Just compare OSRS today to what it was back in 2013 when it first launched. This gives you an idea of what kind of game people want. The fact is, 2026 gamers want QOL, a lot of it but they want it wrapped up in an older skin. The biggest problem with retail is that there's just too many expansions worth of content. Even if you made all of it irrelevant (it currently is), people are apprehensive in joining a game that has existed for over 20 years.

World buffs should have a duration of 3 hours, non boonable and not work in raids. They should be a temporary buff that an adventurer can gain to help them in their journey to max level, that's it. Also Heart of Hakkar should drop for all of STV.
