There have yet to be any exploits found for the 1.12 client or modern clients. There are some ways that I wouldn't classify as an exploit to run arbitrary code, though; most of those servers use custom files and launchers, making it easy to do anything there. They could also serve an update directly from the WoW client which could contain malware, but it should be quite obvious if their client is trying to update. If you do run the 3.3.5 client though, I would suggest applying RCE patcher on it.
