Conformer generally speaking does like 6k damage in a normal hit. Most sourceable enemies, except the unknowns, have far less than 6k HP, changing from 6k to 7k or 8k damage doesnt change anything, the enemies were gonna die in one hit regardless. This is speacilly true with heavy tank that has the STR source, arguably the only real source to farm, if at all. Source farming isnt that necessary when you can save the hero drinks and dupe them with W-item to quickly kill emerald, the only boss that actually requires to get more stats or grind.Regarding the unknowns, most of them have like 30k to 25k hp, dont remember too much, but making yuffie wear the curse ring wont do much difference, at most you reduce the hits you have to do from 5 to...4?. You are better off putting the ribbon on yuffie to protect her from confusion (since some can confuse you), have her use 2x cut or 4x cut to close the gap and then use morph to kill it.

And I never recommend GBA because the sound is trash, but there is a romhack that gives you like 12 classes or something which can be fun, but I dunno if you want that for a first time experience. As far as the Pixel Remaster goes with regards to party composition, I played it multiple times when it first came out with different parties. I would say pretty much any party is fine, with the caveat that I recommend that you have a White Mage, pretty much specifically only for the final boss. The White Mage is the only class that gets a good aoe heal, and the final boss can just wipe you if you don't have a good aoe heal. There are also some "hidden" potions that double your stats in battle or some shit, I forget, you can buy them in the desert, and if you don't want to bring a White Mage you will pretty much need those potions, or you will need to grind to a ridiculous level, which I think is rather doable now since they have added the ability to tweak the parameters to give you like 4x exp. The claim that FFI is the most gameplay-focused game... I dunno. I don't know why anyone would say it's the "most gameplay-focused", it's more than this was before they really went for a narrative with FF. I wouldn't necessarily say that it's more focused on gameplay than the other entries, but rather that there is basically no story, while having about the same "focus" on gameplay as the other entries. It's not like you're doing anything complicated in FFI, it just doesn't have much of a story or characters besides "go get the mcguffins", so the only thing left is the gameplay.

Huh. Apparently there's an announcement for Revelation soon or recently, yet all we want to talk about is Final Fantasy XVI. This isn't the only time, either. It seems like every single time there is Final Fantasy VII Remake news, all /ffg/ ever wants to talk about is Final Fantasy XVI. I guess XVI had much more of a lasting legacy than the Final Fantasy VII Remake did. By comparison, no one ever wants to talk about VIIR, and anytime someone does, VIIR's biggest fan shuts the conversation down himself.

He is the budget master. He pumped out XVI for $60m, which is HALF of the budget of ONE of the VIIR games. They knew that they couldn't just be doing nothing with Final Fantasy while sucking themselves off via the VII Remake, so they got the most efficient producer in the company to create the mainline FF game (even thought Final Fantasy VII is also mainline).

The fact that the safe zone chalice thing exists at all in a multi player game is pretty trash. PSO competed for the same vibe Crystal Chronicles fulfilled, and PSO won most of the time. We'd play PSO for long stretches of time (I'm talking like over the course of months) whereas Chronicles was more of a like a thing we play for one weekend every once in a blue moon. I'd give PSO an easy 7/10, but Crystal Chronicles doesn't quite make that cutoff for me.

And that's just the playable areas we can see.
