Here's one final asset. All of these chasriel drawings were in service to creating a picture book styled fanfiction about the one year anniversary of charas arrival in the underground. And then have it shatter (like glass in an animation within the cutscene, or like the earth has been stabbed and a dark fountain has emerged, shrouding it in darkness) before fading to show us Asgore mulling over stacks of papers and a theory board, and Toriel getting into an argument with him. Then, Asgore leaving. Then, Asgore mulling over the papers in the flower shop basement as he gets progressively older.All of this can be done without a single line of dialogue, just music and cutscene. Then, at the end, Asgore tells Kris he’s sorry for basically turning into a conspiracy theorist. Maybe even follow up with a promise to explain his theory to Kris once the fountain is closed, but the Knight swoops him away anyway. There’s no vagueposting involved here, we get to see old Hometown, young Asriel and young for the first time outside of silhouette, and the same amount of lore is revealed as now
