I have started my run of Banquet for Fools. Going in blind, I wasn't expecting the change to more action orientated gameplay compared to Staglands, but it has been pretty entertaining through the few introductory fights so far. Always fun to problem solve in UnderRail.Normally I wouldn't be able to kill these Death Stalkers yet, especially because there were three of them, but in UR there almost always is another way besides direct fighting.There were three frozen mutants in the cryo-storage there, so what I did was thaw them by turning off the cooling, open up the room with the Crawlers, throw a flashbang towards the mutants to lure the crawlers to them with the sound, wait for them to start fighting, run towards the door and close it, when it got quiet I turned back on the cooling. By the end of it, as you can see, only a single frozen crawler remained, easy pickings! C'mon, how great does that sound? Not many CRPGs let you come up with this kind of stuff, let alone have the systems in place to support it.

I enjoy that finishing quests give you skill points as well as XP and the skill seems somewhat related to the type of quest. This child killing quest gave me weapon skill, while one where I helped a sick woman gave me health. I can't remember seeing that in any other CRPG I have played, but I think it is a great concept.
