I need some help anons ranked Divine and above. I spammed Pugna and a bit of Silencer when he was banned to get to Ancient and I've learned heaps about strategic itemization/skill builds, how to play fights, how to move across the map, and so on, and I never drop out of Ancient even when playing new heroes. The trouble is that my laning was totally dependent on playing a hero who had immense range, great damage, good armour, very high movespeed, and a spammable AOE nuke. I learned to play hyper aggressive in lane against almost everyone. I understand all the secondary objectives (lotus, pull camps, stacking, runes, etc) and when to leave my lane, but now I am playing other heroes I am feeding in lane and having to recover after. Recently I have been playing Snapfire but she's very short ranged and her nuke isn't very spammable and I get caught out quite a bit even when I'm trying to be careful. I know generic shit about being on the left or right of the lane and identifying whether I can win a right click trade, but are there any more detailed guides about support lane positioning?

pro dota died in NA because no one wants to be a pro, it's a hard and risky job
but that's got nothing do with dota dying, pro dota != dota
dota is a cultural phenomenon, if people see it as a better hobby than playing other games/new games then dota wouldn't die, the problem with dota dying was that the game has real issues that valve never fixed and those issues drove away old players and prevented new players to play the game, I'm talking mostly about the toxicity and griefing issue in games that never gets punished and the lack of advertisement
if valved fixed those, people would ponder where play dota is better than league/cs/single player and would chose dota, because it's the best game, game population would go up and pro dota would be fixed as a byproduct of those changes, there would be more money in prodota, bigger talent pool to make stronger teams
valve needs to do what they always avoided, deal with the griefers, make the game become an always positive experience, then invest in advertising to lure people slowly
dota is more fun than playing 99% of the games out there, removing those pain points and the game would thrive again and the prodota would follow

You already said yourself there's no truly safe location you can farm and that's still true. This isn't League of Legends where there are LAWS of where you can farm at what times. Everything changes per game. True skill comes from knowing the map and being able to move as necessary. as an offlaner you need to invade their jungle every game and farm everything on the side of the river that closest to their safelane t1. Don't forget to get the wave too obviously, and don't forget to pull your wave with the enemy hard camp (outline purple) so the enemy carry can't get a safe shoved wave under his t2
it is of the utmost importance that you farm these camps + get the wave. Not only it's the best farming pattern for offlane but it also denies the enemy safelane farm. If the enemy team decides to make a move on you it means that the other two lanes are left free to push and breathe comfortably, which is what they're supposed to be doing if you're good at offlane. Dark Seer, Slardar and Cent all have escape spells. Use them if they're running up on you. Axe can just phase boots away. If there's 4 enemies running at you because you're setting camp in that area you're doing it right. only recoil into your triangle + the wisdom cuck camps if your lane got raped hard, which on heroes like Dark Seer, Centaur and Axe isn't bound to happen. Slardar is much more shaky and lineup dependant. Don't listen to the other guy he's the bitter autist shitting up this general day after day

It is correct, the stuff I said about each specific hero is more of a guideline or a likely ideal. A single ranged creep is worth only a few told less than an entire small camp, while a siege creep (or arguably a flagbearer) is worth more. There are 5 or more creeps in most waves most of the game. The rule then is to farm lane as much as possible whenever it's not too risky. After early game you want to destroy the wave ASAP so you show on the map as little as possible and so you can farm more camps between waves. This also pushes the wave and forced the enemy to respond, stopping them from taking offensive action and giving you the opportunity to take some of your own and even hit a tower after.

I have been spamming seer lately and it seems like one of those heroes that just doesnt lose his lane, or rather doesnt care much, you can steal you can jungle, Ion shield in itself, you have all this shit going for you and people in my games just respond exceptionally poorly to Ion sheild. Im getting just straight up kills putting it on the ranged creep every wave.

These games are unranked but when i play ranked i run into problems with running over the enemy lane because they will send literally the entire team to evict me and my teams response more often than not is to continue doing exactly what they were doing already which means if they had a tough lane they will jungle safely and continue to do so, so the theoretical space is just wasted because people are just not gonna go back and push out mid unless for some reason it has a fuckload of creeps in it. People either dont know theres a difference or they dont care because its, its not a marginal difference at all, but to alot of these players farming the jungle is just too safe to miss out on. If my team ever wins their lane and play somewhat aggressively these game end very fast because i definitely prefer ending the game now. In regards to wards they are often just out of stock and not placed or already dewarded, i usually queue up a set so i can secure it if i need it, so fuck you to that other guy sucking his own dick
