How was old dota easier? There was one courier that was basically just for mid lane, your clarities and regen got canceled by creeps, laning was brutal and you had to use your brain and just not ferry over tangos and mangos every minute with your personal courier. Towers mattered far more, losing a lane of rax was a big deal. Modern dota is just one strategy: brawl, teamfight, and farm. That's it.
