Retail and Classic+ will have its own separate new content releases going forward because Blizzard doesn't want you to cancel your sub. Normally players will play retail when there is new content but after a couple months they unsub until the next big patch. Classic+ will be the bridge in between so more players will just keep their sub going indefinitely. Also I expect Classic+ to have a lot of modern elements to attract as many retail players as possible.
