But these games are a product themselves of the community which makes them; tantamount to fastfood. after a while it all starts to taste the same. cooked in the same grease, served in the same crinkly wrapper alongside the same sides (steam page, owned website, merch, etc)~~~six chapters and we get only the barest of a conflict and inner turmoil, it gets to a point where it feels like im being cheated of my time. you could introduce friends and bullies and the love interest within 2 or three chapters. you can have the main conflict play throughout these, and begun the rising action around chapter 4 i'd think. depending ofc on the length of your game. no ones expecting anyone to write an epic.too much of the VN's out now, and coming out later, drink from the same well, and don't have enough good editors and ballsy folk to steer teams off from going down the trite brick road
