>>581190553>I don't know how to draw or what to draw onif you just want to edit an existing one, i'd say export the diffuse/albedo and the normal map and lay one on top of the other in photoshop or whatever you're using. you should be able to intuit more or less what's going on from looking at it.then paint on a new layer in grayscale. say you want to add a recessed scar and a mole. white represents the highest point and black the lowest, so start with #808080 bg, draw a black line or whatever shape for the deepest part of your scar and a white circle for your mole, then apply inner/outer shadows or gradient fills as needed. or paint them by hand, use the blur tool, whatever you like. you're just making a relief map basically.after that, flatten and run it through the normal map filter. you might have to invert the colors (or invert-y in the filter settings) so it matches the one you exported. then overlay blend your new layer on top of the original and reimport it.>checking iterationsyeah that part sucks. depending what you're working with, you might be able to use redhottools to hot reload your mod so you don't have to continually close and relaunch the game, but you'll still have to reload a save each time
