Going up to Lou's haven, we see that she (or a ghoul) has cleaned up nicely. Her haven actually changes a little each night, showing new signs of being lived in, and it makes me wish they had done something similar with our own haven. Lou has very particular tastes, common to her clan, but as she refuses to leave her haven that makes feeding extra appreciated. I'm not thrilled to be summoned as her doordash service, but it IS important to ingratiate myself to her for now - even if she's not Prince anymore, she's the Prince's sire, and obviously has a lot of pull. Besides, figuring out a Ventrue's particular tastes can be useful in the future.

Regardless, we have Lou's dinner order: she likes them depressed or mournful, coming from money, and not looking like a hooker to the front desk. We learn she's been assigned a Gangrel to hunt for her, which she considers a jape from 'that little homunculus' - I can only assume she means Tolly. I'd like to set them against each other somehow, but for now I can only gracefully exist and go looking for the only Gangrel in the city, Nix.Out of character, we were originally going to get another expansion called 'Season of the Wolf', which I suspect was meant to add playable Gangrel's or maybe even have us play as Nix directly. Unfortunately that all got lost in development hell, and the two we did get - one for Benny, one for Isabella - weren't very good.

At this point I think my character is a little less than thrilled to be feeding Lou, and is less than impressed with this neonate trying to act tough, so I'm not as diplomatic as maybe I could be. Some times people fret over the most optimal dialogue options or paths to take in a given CRPG, but IMO this really optimizes a lot of the fun away. You should always only be considering what the character would do, say, what they're feeling. Otherwise you might as well just be playing a Telltale game. A lot of games in this genre have taken to showing you different sorts of good/bad point gains or reactions before you even pick an option, further encouraging this. Disaster, yellow paint for dialogue.

You might be annoying Nix, but good question. Her childe doesn't seem to have any designs on her, and in fact is still subservient to her despite her position. The anarchs are clearly disorganized rabble, mostly thin-bloods, and one rogue sheriff left half their strength dead in a night. At this point, Lou is probably my character's number one suspect though she can't voice it yet.

Nix is clearly unhappy in the city, but reluctant to leave. Nothing seems to be stopping her from telling Lou to fuck off and going off into the woods, but she gets a little cagey when asked. Out of character, we know that Nix hasn't been very observant of the rules that she cut contact with technology and old family, and is now being pursued by Hunters. In character, it's clear she's afraid of something, and while she's being truthful in saying the city is safer (and perhaps Lou wasn't as thorough as she thought with the garou) it's noticeable to Fabien that she's not telling the whole truth.

We're off hunting for victims now. Lou likes them depressed and rich, and we need to locate a few potential victims to help Nix figure out what to look for. The dialogue for this quest is really rapey and weird, and totally out of character for any other time you talk to people and try to evoke lust or anger or fear or whatever else, I don't know what they were thinking. Nevertheless, that concludes our short session, but hopefully we'll be able to do a longer one soon. God knows this general needs it.
