Is it just me or are the potential of dark worlds not being realized to their fullest? The whole fun of them is seeing an entire room turned into a world of its own but he’s not committing to the concept enough for my own tastes. Chapter 3 and 5 have the same problem where Toby wasn’t taking into account what a dark fountain opened in the dreemurr living room or asgore’s flower shop would actually be like as a fully fledged location. Rather, he just went and thought to himself “I want tv studio so the players are getting tv studio. I want Japan world the players are getting Japan world.”Granted, all the fan predictions for chapter 3 weren’t any original, just a homogenous rehash of chapter 2 that basically amount to ripping off studiopolis zone from sonic mania stitched together with whatever random shit could be gleamed from the sweepstakes. They were fun predictions but very derivative of each other and suffer the same problems as the actual chapter 3 where it’s less like the dreemurr house and more like a generic tv studio land. Except at least they tried integrating more of the house like the trash flowers but that didn’t make sense because those would be far away from where Kris made the fountain. I think I said this before but if I were Toby I would’ve made chapter 3 take a more surrealistic or minimalistic approach to the dark world. And also have more concrete explanations as to what the darkners are. (I heard somewhere that lanino and elnina are one of the stars in asriel’s side of the bedroom and the white fur in the sink respectively apparently?)
