Well of radiance started the casualization of dps phases in destiny. Every mechanic must be centered around standing around a plate that lets you do damage but they decided to make the bosses melt your healthbar at the same time so you are encouraged to rock well of radiance. In destiny 1 there was no dps plates in raids other than golgoroth but even so golgoroth only did damage to the gaze guy. You were encouraged to move and shoot which was great. In destiny 2 you are forced to sit in a healing rift/well just to do dps which lead to bungie "fixing" it by encouraging loadout swapping which only adds to the problem instead of fixing it. Its like putting a bandaid on a leaking pipe it just doesnt work. Well of radiance and dps plates were a mistake

Only the offline version of the Dawn Client is available right now and its still very much a work in progress, but its just the fact that a bunch of fans were able to do it while a gigantic corporation that had 1200+ employees at their height couldn't, its just crazy. Its not even like its impossible with only 500 people, Bungie just refused to do it. Also neat that they're working with Sunrise to use the scripts, just so both sides can keep their versions of the game alive.

Didn't complete all the quests for one faction and you're 1-2 lore logs away from having a full set? Fuck you, do all the quests again.

I suspect Sony is in such a state that they are simply supporting efforts at IP that have a proven track record of support, which is actually the opposite of gambling gazillions of dollars over a decade on stuff with no track record (like Concord). This is a lesson other game publishers/developers have learned over the last several years, that its better to extend the life of supported IP's (and thus have consistent income) rather than trying to do something different. Especially since all the money that enabled the risky behaviour has dried up.
