Also, they need a lot of value to bribe.

Some settings treat qi as something that has to physically circulate through your meridians, so losing a limb can damage or interrupt someone's cultivation unless the replacement somehow restores those pathways. Others treat qi more like spiritual energy that can be projected through anything you consider an extension of yourself, including prosthetics or weapons. In RimWorld you could even consider cultivation as an offshoot of psycasting, but neither Lingxiao or Suyin really know for sure what it is at the moment.
