I've been pvping a lot since hitting level 20 and I'm surprised to find out how they've implemented their new layering, I guess it's a retail thing but it comes down that every zone is its own "unique" layer structure, which literally cuts the world into pieces. In practice, what you have is: Zero visibility of players in the next zone over from you (even if they're 5 yards away), players instantly disappearing when they zone away and no guarantee you'll hit the same layer they entered when they zone. I just saw a raid of horde standing between the bridge to duskwood/redridge on the pilars off to the side. Alliance raid came from redridge to fight them? move 3 yards to the side, they become fully invisible. Alliance pass through to fight them? Only 20% or less enter the layer that horde raid group is in (all in the same layer because grouped), they butcher them. The other 80%? different duskwood layer, no horde at all. They zone back to redridge? See no one across the bridge. It's becoming more and more obvious that this is retail lite, even ignoring stuff like the blue elves.

Dwarves have been demoted from best hunter race in alliance to worst hunter race in the entire game. By picking a dwarf hunter you actively disable one of the four racials, because you can't use maces. So no 1% more crit for you. No more gun spec. You get 5% more damage to beasts instead, which to be honest only offers benefits while levelling. But they are best for paladin and priest healers, simply because heals will benefit from mace spec (lots of healing maces in classic).

But man imagining my gear being fully torqued out at 60 and my rage still looking like it does now at 20 is so demotivating. It was fun how gear directly affected your gameplay in a tactile way. Now it's just a slow energy bar that starts at 0 and randomly fails to regen sometimes.I'm still kind of hopeful for prot, avoidance being a source of rage is a fun idea. Who knows if it actually ends up being worth gearing for or how well prot scales in the first place though.
