But this weekend started to show cracks, even one havoc and one tank and a couple arty will completely throw a match because the entire thing is about how to handle them, people have to completely give up playing the game how they would like to dedicate to carrying around a MAAWS with the HZ group otherwise they have literally 0 recourse against it (and even then have to hope they get preferable angles because of glancing faggotry).It's just not handled well. Helis are slightly easier with the ease of use of SAM sites, and relatively easy access to ammo supplies, but still an annoyance with how low cd their flares are, if they stay a couple hundred metres away from you, you will just not kill them without burning all their flares. Still a net loss for them, balanced well, but annoying. Until havocs show up and obliterate your sam site with one click and you can't do anything because even the minigun does more damage with a single bullet to build than a hammer swing does, so it's impossible to actually build countermeasures unless you go out of your way to establish a NEW fob with NEW resources and a NEW sam site that is hopefully in the range of this behemoth (and isn't spotted before you can set it up).Also all that stuff takes 3x longer to set up than it does to just buy a new heli and go when it inevitably does get killed.There's a real mismatch on time commitment for countermeasures versus the thing they're countering. I'm not a game designer though so I can't say how it should be, I just know the way it is now isn't fun and even streamers are seeing it.

Map is too big for 100 players. Give us two team mode or shoot it up to 150 players with a 50 each team. Planetside was never able to figure out how to balance a 3 faction game other than forcing reasons for teams to not gang up on one. There are too many instances where you are getting raided by a team and artied by the other and its incentivized because the game runs on a selfish economy of rewarding players with money per kill. There is so many instances of not seeing my team anywhere because there can only be 32 players a team and there is so much map to cover.

Once they decide where they want the steepest xp curve to be they make the gear around those levels cost an ok amount to encourage players to kit up around there. You make every later unlock cost a hell of a lot more to make picking them strategic decisions or rewards for playing profitably. Between moving the xp curve around and shuffling things around on the career paths there's a lot they can do to change it up each season. Personally I think moving the 15-20 curve to after level 20 and then keeping staples and counters to <20 is enough to make it feel great. The reality of a wardogs FoB is that you're going to get shelled with artillery for the entire game. The problem with these intricate door/barbed wire defensive designs is that they're just going to get wiped out by artillery. Walls aren't ideal for setting up defensive courtyards but they're basically the only thing that doesn't get shelled to death. On top of that, the meta really requires you to be extremely fast with your FoB building, because a faster built FoB starts raining artillery on other FoBs faster, making it so they can't return fire. So you really can't afford to waste time making anything too intricate
