BoC is decent Sonic comic, but what really makes it something that needs to be studied and discussed about is how much /sthg/ loves it. Forever /sthg/ has kept arguing how none of the current Sonics makes them feel like real Sonic, but this Doraemon-like depiction of characters where their personalities have been taken to extremes and made very child friendly, is the real Sonic to them.Sonic needs to be written like he has popped out of children's storybook and has come to play with them. I accidentally watched the original Shadow vs Mewtwo DB when searching for the new one.It was very crude childish, it made me cringe with the voice acting, annoyed me that Shadow lost and shocked me that Shadow even got bloody impaled.The new one is much more narratively compelling and gave me goosebumps at several points. Yet at the same time it also had a certain reddit taste to it that wasn't really there in the original with incomprehensible numbers and references even a certified autist like myself doesn't care for. In the old one Mewtwo being sexless was use to make a short pronouns joke, now it's done completely seriously to the point where it's distractingly obnoxious plus has the connotation of kneeling to trannies which didn't exist back then.I still think the new fight is flashy and technically competent enough to be the best but I was surprised how the old one isn't that far behind.
