It would kill half the clanrats fighting said unit as well, but thats a tough titty.If you diverged too far from your strengths you'd be wiped out easily. Clanrats front + Slingers back was suicidal option as best, hence major outcry since you'd lose ranged combat, melee combat and had no AP for armored cav/sem.
