I think it's really important to undo Halo studios take on the story, as much as possible. It was bad, it didn't work. If you need to read books outside of the game, to understand what's going on, that's bad story telling. The story between halo 4 and 5 doesn't fit together well at all. They went a completely different direction, it's a mess. Aside from a small group of dedicated lore autists and 343 apologists, nobody will miss it. The halo community is better off with as little influence from halo studios as possible.

Halo fans are getting pretty vocal about Activision taking over Halo, and they are NOT happy. Theyre especially pissed about Halo Industries getting gutted and Halo Studios employees getting laid off. I guess they were holding out hope that the franchise would get a good route under the new management, but instead they got layoffs and another corporate shakeup.
