Do different crusade levels have different drop rates for equipment? For example, 5-5, 6-2, and 6-9 all drop t2 hats and t3 boots. Does it matter which one I farm if I'm trying to get those two?

The E101s you get from the shop+Crash Course should be enough to rank up a new apostle directly to rank 5 and by the time you finish ranking them up you'll have enough to do it for the next one. It takes more E101s to replace a high tier gear shard than a low tier one while the droprates are the same so it's better to use them on low tiers.

Maybe stop at 3-4 if you don't want to feel disappointed getting it randomly in the future. At 5 stars it has an 80% attack bonus which is insane.
