This isn't an issue because you can simply move your hand slightly to reach high buttons or slide down and hit low buttons, and your supporting hand stabilizes the controller while you relax your grip and reach for the buttons. Also on a normal controller the arc of the thumb travels between the stick, X and Y buttons, or with a lower grip the stick, A and B buttons. The frame is interesting because the arc travels from the stick, X and B buttons.Problem number 1, there is no supporting hand on VR controllers, so you have to hold onto the controller with fingers while trying to shift that same hand to reach the buttons. You're shifting the controller high or low with your finger grip rather than relaxing your grip and moving your hand with your wrist. Problem number 2, knuckle straps make this worse because your hand is locked in place against the controller and it requires more force to change hand/thumb position. Also we can't just get the knuckle strap height right and solve all the problems because you need the mobility to reach above and below the arc comfortably.Quest didn't have this problem because the simple layout puts the analog stick and the B and Y buttons in the arc of the thumb. A and X you can retract your thumb back, or just comfortably hit them by rocking the back pad of your thumb. People really should be rocking back their thumb. It's like the palming Ctrl of gamepads.Looking at the frame, with a properly positioned knuckle strap you can use the analog stick and X and B comfortably. People who use the back of their thumb pad could hit A easily, but not everyone does that. Y and the menu button are just going to be a bitch. Aside from those it really depends on what you're interested in. Alyx is top-tier for shootan, Beat Saber for rhythm, and a lot of the smaller experiences like Job Simulator, I Expect you to Die, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes (if you have a friend) and Accounting are pretty fun and simple.

In his unboxing he just happens to put his left controller strap in the big hands hole like he's supposed to. Mystery solved.The second complaint is people with small hands can't press Y and the start/select buttons up top. As far as I can tell they are still fucked despite using the small hands hole and getting their hand as high as they can. However I wonder if that could be fixed with a new strap eye that's mounted higher and provides sort of a shelf for the bottom of small hands.
