I've been noticing that a certain amount of schizophrenia that used to always be here is no longer preset on /ffg/ anymore, but *even more* schizophrenia has been present in /v/ FF threads than the amount that used to be present here. Replaying FF7(OG) to see if it's better than I remember. Most of the Midgar battles had good but wasted concepts due to the easy balancing. But after leaving Midgar, most of the fights like Jenova, Dyne and Palmer are basically braindead.

Anyone else think FF7's story would have been better if Zack just died by Sephiroth? It was the perfect spot for him to dramatically die and for Cloud to avenge him. I don't know why Square kept him alive just to later get killed by random soldiers.

You still don't get anything other than the base game. There's no real point in making the free trial to level 75 and infinite if it's still just the base game and no expansions. It's nice that it's not limited to 2 weeks anymore, but that's still basically like only having ARR on the XIV free trial. Would I say that the XI free trial is worth trying in and of itself? No, not really. But if you are even remotely considering buying the full XI game, then yes absolutely play the free trial first so that you can find out if fighting against XI's systems is even something you want to be doing.
