With the regenerative factor there's at least the argument that the pain in and of itself doesn't last very long due to the injuries responsible for the pain healing rapidly, and thus isn't actually a strong incentive to not fight like it would be otherwise if injuries persisted. Besides, if someone was fucking with you you'd probably want to toss hands even if it did hurt.
