So after playing the Samurai early access, I think at the moment I don't really like it. Which is weird, because I loved Vikings and Rome, and did not expect to dislike a game in this series.The tone of the other games was generally serious, while this one they're putting in a "joke" option to lots of dialogue option lists (like the purple personality in DA2 for example). People also use a lot of anachronisms. This may seem like a quibble but I think believability and immersion can be beneficial to a game and stuff like that breaks it easily and often.Which is a shame, since the premise is fine. It's vaguely based on William Adam's life, and the broad strokes story and basis of many of the characters are historical, events he partook in and people he met. Telling a realistic story in a game is super cool, but someone decided on a "how do you do fellow kids" style of dialogue and it just detracts from the experience to put it simply.Combat is fine and is similar to the other games. The stealth is janky already but that's ok since it's still beta. I've had people detect me and not do anything, and I've had my character continue to run when entering a stealth zone, and various other bugs related to that system. But bugs are fine, I don't hold that against a game in beta.Positives:The game is voice acted, and most of the voice acting is fine. The environments are better graphics even if the character portraits are worse. The premise is good, actually about a historical figure.
