Because bot defs and even the user messages are just as important as your preset for making echoing not happen. If you're playing with a bot made with echoing models in mind, it'll echo less. If you're playing a bot made with nothing in mind, it'll -ism all the time. Tuning your chatbot prompts to certain models and saying what models you use is important.
