I emulated the holy trinity, 7 and played Project Wingman, and I still consistently score second place because I choose to bomb stationary targets in an F-18C rather than force myself to do player dogfights. Team balancing in this game is kind of dog water but you’re not forced to do pure dogfight pvp unless it’s like Comona on warfare rotation or something. Even so, there’s plenty of npc targets to fight too. Just expect to have a kick me sign if you do a bit too well, but if that ever happens, dodging people for 5 mins straight is still credit to team because now everyone else can actually shoot down stuff just fine.Also I run into more war thunder players online than I do Ace combat players and I can tell because war thunder players have a very particular type of playstyle and it shows when they do play.

It took me a few days longer, but I finally finished the campaign (there's a good fix for crashes around now thankfull). You notice they actually had money this time and it can feel a little too movie-ish and Western at times. Overall I think it's a great game however, from a story, mission design and gameplay standpoint. I like the move towards more weighty aircraft too.There's somewhat of a dry spell in the middle from mission 12 to 16/17, but it's definitely not AC5 bad in that regard. Practically all missions from 18 onwards are great or borderline all-timers in exchange. The final mission was kind of a letdown unfortunately, but I guess they just had to tie up those loose ends.More focus on your squadmates and giving them arcs was a great decision. Overall I've found all of them likeable. The supporting cast is decent too. Coster's arc unfortunately kind of ends after mission 8 and he feels very "just there" for most of the game, even when Baxter makes him your number 2 and he has his little amped up moment in mission 27. Baxter dying was too predictable, although both his and Kate's presumed death make the game much more personal. I love how you don't feel invincible as a squad and how everyone has their personal crisis to work through. (You) aren't exempt either. I didn't think they'd go as far as implying suicide by missile from survivor's guilt and depression though.I think my personal ranking of AC games I've played is 4>0=8>5=6 now.
