i just realized that icebind is doing what i’ve been asking de to do ever since they reworked the new-player experience with vor’s prize: add more side objectives to missionsi remember logging in and playing their new tutorial quest seeing the "do you want to save the colonist" choice, and being like, "cool, missions will be more interesting now" only for them to do basically nothing with the ideait’s literally something i’ve praised de for most recently and notably with the 1999 caches/safes and the survival speed-up, small side objectives that give you more loot either directly or by speeding up the missionit’s something i’ve brought up multiple times over the years and even expanded on. a few example that always comes to mind is mobile defense, but lotus finds out there’s an airtight vault that you can hack yourself to get more loot, or an interception where you steal decryption codices to make it fasteri really hope there’s more of this stuff in tau, since it’s a whole new system free from decades of decisions
