So, without excessive spoilers, for the Chaos route - do characters will still have the tendency of joining and randomly fucking off, or its finally "you get them you keep them" this time? Mind you, I barely have any idea what Chaos route even will be about, but I am finishing a rerun and I assume its finally time to choose what girls I plan to carry around since I assume I've got to know most of them.

Once you get the pocket castle back, you can begin trying to re-recruit the girls you actually liked/cared about, and then do anything important. Certain girls are extremely reason to re-obtain and can be gotten immediately after starting the route with little to no difficulty, or are simply obtained during the early questline with the cities. Others are locked behind long dungeons or require very specific progression triggers to activate; and in many cases they get absolutely nothing to compensate for it despite how obscenely powercrept they'll become as a result (being outleveled/outclassed by the random encounters in the area by the time you can get them back), which completely guts any attempt to use them since you're simply not allowed to for 95% of the route.tl;dr I hope you like your 'un-important' normal monster girls

i rushed this one pretty hard to fill out the starting roster of girls.
I just finished the Alice route in Part 3 and beat the AD. Some thoughts:I wouldn’t call it weaker than the Ilias route, though I understand why some feel that way. It felt shorter, and the structure made it seem like the intended order was Alice first, then Ilias. I still preferred the archangels and angel faction over the monsters. The angel side felt more vibrant and present.Alice Minagi and Hiruko were clear standouts. The Lilith sisters were another highlight: they fully endeared me after I hated them in Parts 1 and 2. Excellent development. MW Tamamo was fine, competent but nothing more. Saja was the same, just kind of there. The archangels felt far more alive by comparison. The top players of the MW route were great though. Loved Alice, Minagi, and, surprisingly, Hiruko might be my favorite.I liked Kanon more than expected, mostly because she was so into us, even if she’s still vile. Sub Ilias was a compelling antagonist and outshined Alipheese the Dark Goddess in both routes. The Dark Goddess has almost no presence.Granberia’s cutscenes were a high point. Her development was quick but fit the pacing. I really enjoyed her sections. The ending hit hard: the white rabbits reveal, fighting Marcellus with Alice, her sacrifice and iconic pose, then her returning to help absorb the darkness for World Breaker while saying we’d always be together. That got me. I also teared up at True Ilias protecting her dog and the slime girl. Lots of emotional moments.The Sonya epilogue was nice. It was refreshkng having her make it through the whole route. The voiced soundtrack kicking in on the final reset was peak. Excited to start the third route!

Usually if I'm seeing someone talk about how helpful a utility character is it's Vanilla for just being the first Merchant you can get in the game who also runs the item store in the Pocket Castle and thereafter seems to just get funneled into handling a bunch of other stuff. The +150% Drop Rate is also just very helpful for getting specific items.

The remains of what's left are mostly localized in Sariela's Prison or live in Fairy Island or Hellgondo trying to survive. It's mentioned Ilias would've nuked Fairy Island off the face of the earth if doing so wouldn't have rendered her world completely FUBAR and the artificial spirits alone are a sign of how badly she didn't think through killing the elemental spirits due to how inefficient they are at the job and how many humans she needs to have black bagged just to keep them operational; even so she still seems to prefer them just because they're under 'her' control.The only real exceptions are Uriela's Grand Noah where anyone who was strong enough gets to live there, so there's some monsters around, and Raphelia's territory where San Ilia is a haven for some refugees. Even then Ilias routinely sends Angels to search around so she can undermine Raphelia's treaty and have an excuse to kill everything left, hence the Mermaids literally having to hide in the attic. Due to Harpies being native to the Ilian Continent, they were hunted to extinction, and by the time you arrive there's only one single individual left (a Sky Knight in Grand Noah) as Ilias had also destroyed the egg for the Divine Bird. AW!Kris is then killed by a Black Alice and with her death the AW!Harpies become extinct for good. The Harpy Orb is found buried in the dirt of the squalid AW!Fiona, with none of the inhabitants knowing what it is and asking you to take it because it creeps all of them out.

I have very fond memories of Part 1 and 2's LOC/Gameplay and the experience from that period allowed my Harpies to push through all of Part 3 even on Paradox difficulty (and the added stipulation of Reina going deathless) and cleared it without needing extensive grinding, bar a single point where I had to get a different girl the jobs needed to fulfill Chirp's role as the Shield Captain due to a certain boss's counter abilities. But had I been playing on a later version I wouldn't have needed to do that (plus she's tied for my favorite boss on the route). It was a lot of fun, and I loved a lot of the bosses in the final route as many of them are extremely well-designed and uniquely fun battles that were very satisfying to defeat with the Harpies, and some of them reminded me of the older LOC Superboss fights in a good way. I hope you enjoy them too. Very helpful.On the subject of barriers though, a word of warning: do not try to rely on them in the final route. An NPC will inform you that the new "Z" tier skills completely ignore barriers, and as a result they're no longer useful against most bosses. It's one of the few instances of power creep that bothers me since it doesn't feel well thought out, but thankfully with HP Buffs and Dancing/Singing/Shield Captain buffs, you can still tank two or three hits from bosses even on the highest difficulty, and surviving changes to focusing on keeping up your defensive buffs and weakening the enemy's attacks or finding which of their most dangerous skills you can prevent to help mitigate the onslaught.
