So blizzard nerfed some spells because of the 100k tournament Thorns and retribution aura got nerfed and rightfully so. At level 20, you could have about 100 spell power as a paldin with a shield. Lvl 1 ret aura would do 12 base + 13 from spell power damage, which is mental.For context, your Consecration with 100 sp at lvl 20 would do 123 dmg over 8 seconds on 4 targets and your passive aura would do 100. That's already 20-25% of 4 elite mob's hp at that lvl just from 1 spell cast
