Ya know back in 2016 we didn't get a new game but at the very least we got teaser trailers. Same in 2021. But not even that for this anniversary. I think maybe Frontiers 2's release is further than we thought
I like the direction they took Mecha Sonic for Scrapnik Island.But I am getting OVA reference fatigue. They seem more like they are present only to be jingled keys than they are meant to actually be meaningfully built to anything.That being said, I don't think SEGA really wants IDW adding or strengthening the continuity all that much because of picrel.

I said it before and ill say it again. Trying to erase Mecha to shill Metal was always a mistake. Mecha makes way more sense as the "enforcer" robot since his design is iterative and made for combat. Metal is more of an actual character and should be used more selectively.

I don't think the design of the characters should depend on branding decisions or timeline placement. I don't care if a character is slightly taller or shorter in one game or another, or a different shade of a color. Characters should be designed to fit the overall artistic direction of a project. If it makes sense for Sonic to be shorter but have more detailed shoes or colored eyes, or for him to be less detailed, or taller, or darker, or whatever, that is fine.
