I couldn't look back at my experience with the chapter and the characters without hating everything related to it, and desu, Ryukishi07 really bloats his writing. Like REAL bloat that I have never seen before. This also made me get so bored of the slice-of-life parts when my focus was the mystery. I think if I just watched the anime, saw the mystery and its answers beforehand, I could have easily enjoyed the visual novel for what it is without building any expectations. When I returned to the manga adaptations, I started feeling more friendly toward the characters, specially Satoko. The 3rd chapter adaptation reminded me of how actually good her slice-of-life parts were in the visual novel, I read it with also his artstyle, and with voice acting. It was a very sweet story, if only I didn't care about the mystery? It might have ended up as one of my favourites in the industry.
