We're now converting all the beets and potatoes being grown in the cloches into bioplastic, which in turn is being made into tissue scaffolding.
The tissue scaffolding is going to be used in the food wing I'm going to begin working on shortly to grow synthetic meat, which I can then insert into tin cans and store in the warehouse. Canned food gives insane hunger points and saturation, so my plan is to make a variety of different canned meats and subsist almost entirely off of that. I need the variety because of spice of life.
That all being said, I can't make synthetic fish meat so what I'm going to do for that at some point is make a fish hatchery around the back of the factory and fill it with a bunch of autofishers and then send whatever the catch over to the cannery.

Also with the benefit of lab-grown meat, I'll be able to mass produce borgors once I have an automated cheese fermenting area.
I made an borgor machine in my last playthrough but didn't get much use out of it because galacticraft burgers by default can only be made with vanilla beef, but I wrote a crafttweaker script to allow it to accept anything tagged with listAllBeefRaw so that frankenbeef works as well

the cannery looks kind of like ass right now because I'm still in the process of plugging all the machines into it. Also, I'm having to use my small supply of rock salt to can food, but I'll run out of that rather quickly. Thankfully, heat and climate lets you make salt by boiling water, so I'm going to have to make a salt production line that feeds into the cannery.

A proper Create focused progression pack should keep you using rotary power for anything that would feasibly need it. Massive spinning generators hooked up to enormous steam turbines, hulking mechanical centrifuges, maybe even flywheel energy storage and spinlaunch assemblies. Hey, you could make a spinlaunch with sable.

You’d still have other power systems, like electricity and compressed air, but 90% of the time they’d be produced from rotational energy.

Turns out that the 1.12 carpenter's blocks port I was using was causing really annoying lighting bugs, so I've had to go back to wooden stairs for the slopes on the greenhouse. Not sure I like this as much, but the carpenters slopes aren't worth half the blocks in my base randomly going fullbright sometimes.
I really have to stop fucking around with this stupid greenhouse so I can make progress on more serious shit.

Animal farm is mostly done. I need to run a power cable to the sewage collector and stick a vacuum hopper in the chicken pen to suck up the eggs, but I'll do that tomorrow. Other than the couple things I have left to do, I've automated every color of wool and milk. The wool is just going to be handy for when I'm making decorations and furniture for the city, and heat and climate uses milk for like a million different cooking recipes so those will both come in super handy.
I also have kind of an insane schizo idea for the wool. If you put dyed wool in an IE crusher, it gives you back 4 string and a 5% chance of getting the dye used to make it. String in alchemistry yields protein, which I can liquefy to turn into liquid protein slurry, which I can burn as fuel in a generator, so what I might do is just constantly pulverize dyed wool to get passive dye accumulation and energy to run the factory. I don't know, I might just automate growing dye flowers in the greenhouse and feed those into a crusher instead.

One of the funny little tricks I do for my skyblocks that include Create is adding a bunch of Haunting recipes that help bridge multiple modpacks together. For Mekanism that's Copper/Iron/Gold haunted into Osmium/Lead/Tin respectively, mixing recipes to get Fluorite, haunt that shit into Uranium, etc. I find it more prudent to look at the actual mechanics at play instead of stressing over energy consumption and whether or not Create will overpower something more FE-centric.

>>584205691
Being able to replace one type of resource collection and refining method with another is something I'm very hesitant to do. Worst case is something like Equivalent Exchange, where you just use one resource to create everything else. Lots of different types of resources with different ways of processing them is what makes modded minecraft automation interesting.

As much as I don’t care about Pokémon, Cobblemon seems like a surprisingly good fit for an open world game like Minecraft. Fishing, caving, exploring various biomes, and also travel mechanisms like on the sea land and sky, even digging and archeology/paleontology. There are Pokémon augmented ways of doing all of these. Makes it feel like Arc, or other animal taming open world games.

The tough part is that Pokémon usually inhabit worlds alongside other human civilisation, but it looks like there are structure mod addons that get you that too.

Honestly the intellectual property itself is probably the weakest part (mr mime, a mon that’s literal keys on a keychain, etc.). And there’s a focus on its own combst system, I’m not sure how that meshes with vanilla combat.

Now that the fish hatchery is done, I was able to go and build the rest of the machines for the cannery. I also completed the things I had left to do at the animal husbandry area.
Next step is making a machine that can either dump gravel into the storage network, or use said gravel to make coarse dirt for decoration. Then I'll probably just grow dye flowers in my phytogenic insolator battery to die vanilla concrete with, because I'm gonna need a lot of that shit for billboards and boats and stuff.

I'm still deciding whether I want to make phthalic from phthalic anhydride, which is catalysed with vanadium (of which I have a ton) but takes a shitton of naphthalene, or using the weird potassium dichromate reaction greg has which only uses common precursors but eats a bunch of chromium which is harder to get.

>>
>>584246541
After a bit of scouting, I found white mint seeds and a second village; it seems small, but this is what the neighborhood looks like.
>>
>>584250868
Every modded world starts with a laborious 30 minutes playing with the mile long keybind menu. Alternatively (and in addition to) playing around in the menu for 5-10 minutes every time you press a key on your keyboard and three menus you've never seen before pop up.
I think the best way to go about it is to just unbind literally everything and only bind keys as you need them so there's never any overlap and no risk of pressing a key that does something you don't know about, but I've never personally cleared them all at the start I just get annoyed when I have to redo most of them
>>
>>584250868
>>584251332
You know how games like Kerbal Space Program have multiple contexts for keybinds? Like the space bar makes your kerbal jump if you’re on an EVA, but it advances stages if you’re controlling a vessel.
Minecraft really needs to have that sort of system. Seeing keybind conflicts because one mod uses the H key for something in the inventory and another mod uses the H key when walking around and another mod uses the H key when controlling a train is silly.

Are there any mods that fix this?

>>
>>584265042
what pack/mods? Check NEI first, but if it's not in there then there might be something more esoteric.
>>
>>584265042
that entirely depends on your modpack. its impossible in vanilla and most mods dont add a method for endstone.
>>
>>584261272
BetterEnd can be too busy, while vanilla is too barren. Nullscape is a nice compromise between those, at least if you want to keep the somewhat empty theme for the End dimension. It might help to add a few little structures about the place.

I’m wondering if the end ships from the end cities could be made into good airships for Sable, I think the endstone bricks they’re made of are sufficiently buoyant, but it’s not like they have any method of propulsion. Wind powered vessels don’t really make sense in the sky, but with a keel in the void-sea, maybe they could work well. Can’t wait for an actually good Sable sailing mod. I think we have one or two already functional (Deep Seas and that weather mod), just waiting on aesthetics and polish, and survival friendly gameplay.

The mod has its own internal material progression system with a couple of new crafting items called reinforced metal (alloy of iron, obsidian, and diamonds) and galgadorian (reinforced metal + a bunch of mob drops), though you could obviously change it to use materials from another mod with crafttweaker if you really wanted to. The default recipes are all relatively pricey, and assembling any halfway decent cart in the assembler block will usually take like 20 minutes to half an hour, during which time it will constantly burn coal for fuel.
The carts themselves are nice, though. They have a ton of utility. They can mine, farm, chop trees, patrol your base and shoot mobs, and mow your lawn. All the tools you install on your cart have durability though and have to be repaired with diamonds occasionally. The cart's performance is also heavily dependent on you setting up proper track + redstone infrastructure, though. All-in-all I'd say its pretty balanced, but I've never played create or any modern tech mods so I don't know how well it fits in with them.

Requiring diamonds is very vanilla-coded, I’d hope you could tweak that to something else. The 20 minute time delay is interesting, it’s not something you see that often outside of GTNH-tier uber progression bullshit. It might not be a bad idea to have that sort of time mechanic in a broad parallel mod pack, it incentivises working with other mods simultaneously. On the other hand, it could be very tedious.

The whole mod is vanilla-coded. Heck, the core aesthetic is rigging shit onto a vanilla minecart. But it's simple enough that it plays nice with some other adjacent tech mods, like railcraft and it's specialized rails, and the cart controllers play nice with TE itemducts for seamless logistics.

Pink and light blue are like two of the best colors ever. I hate that they're now inextricably linked with the trans pride flag.
I think I like the colors so much because skitty and swablu were two of my favorite cutemons when I was younger. Speaking of, has the resident cobblemon anon ever encountered either of them/ are they even in cobblemon? I'm feeling more and more tempted to make and play a cobblemon pack. Pokemon + openworld sandbox gameplay is like a match made in heaven.

>Pokemon + openworld sandbox gameplay is like a match made in heaven.
Not the cobblemon anon but it actually is. I got recommended a cobblemon modpack a few days ago and being able to actually interact with the pokemon and see them in the world is a great touch. I like that they drop actual materials on defeat, too. A Wooloo seems to have the same mob drop as a normal sheep
Honestly pisses me off because Palworld has figured this out, and the devs that made cobblemon have figured this out, but apparently the people at Gamefreak are too retarded to come to that same conclusion
>>
>>584292612
I had this same issue, I was doing a TOYMY mostly because I thought botania + cobblemon would be a pretty comfy combo but I quickly found out that anything more recent than two years old that wasn't meant for a specific modpack like Sunlit was on NeoForge so I switched to 1.21.1
Then I realized that I was just building what I already had and sticking pokemon into it and gave up, since if I'm gonna be on 1.21.1 of course I'm using Aeronautics, which is the only real reason to be on that version
>>
>>584293405
I think ever since I was a kid, I imagined a totally freeroam, sandbox-y pokemon game that wasn't as restricted and linear as the actual mainline games. The adventuring and finding rare new pokemon was always the draw of the games for me, and not so much the battle-system and grinding.
That being said, I would like a cobblemon playthrough to have a bit of structure. Are there any cobblemon modpacks/ adventure maps that add in things like cities, quests, and npcs with dialog?

I'd like to find some as well. I never could get into pokemon, but cobblemon is right up my alley. I'm playing Champions Ascent, it's MMO-lite, and I love it. No cities or NPCs with dialogue though, and quests are pretty barebones.

>>
>>584250868
I don't use most of them until I get to the point of unlocking or needing them in the mod and then I check what I actually need, rebind it if needed and force unbind anything else that conflicts. Repeat until I have working keybinds for everything I actually use, and everything conflicting is disabled.

>>584252042
In my experience this already kinda "just works" because in your inventory you can't walk and there's no train, when walking around the inventory is closed and there's no train, and in the train your inventory is also closed - depending on how the mod(s) work this is the only one that may or may not conflict with the walking keybind.
So it's not perfect but usually it's alright. The main issue generally comes from the amount of keybinds for stuff that is meant to be used just walking around in-world, as that's where most of the keybinds exist.
>>
>>584318157
I didn’t mean that the keybinds actually conflicted, but that the keybinds window is erroneously telling you that they’re conflicting. Not knowing the difference between a real conflict and mutually exclusive key contexts is the real issue, when you look at the keybind window and see 50 conflicts, how many are actually problems? If a mod split these contexts up automatically, the process of making a pack, and for users of that pack to adjust keybinds to their liking, would be so much better.

So I'm weighing my options for a cobblemon playthrough. I'm thinking that the easiest and best experience I could get would be playing the cobbleverse pack and then pairing it with this https://modrinth.com/datapack/cobblemon-cities-structures to add a little bit more handcrafted structure to the overworld. Anyone have experience with either/ have better suggestions for me?

Also just on a totally unrelated note, enabling mipmaps in my game causes certain textures with transparent sections (iron bars most notably but also steel scaffolding) to appear fully solid from a distance. Anyone know how to fix this? Anisotropic filtering doesn't seem to help at all.

The amount of people who play modded minecraft on fabric is kind of tiny compared to how many play it on forge or neoforge, and the process of converting a mod on forge to fabric is nontrivial, so a lot of mod devs just dont bother with making a fabric version of their mod. Fabric is more often used as the modloader for "vanilla" minecraft, as it is the best loader for performance mods and slight visual tweaks, but you can still definitely find plenty of content mods for it.
>Modrinth vs Curseforge
pretty sure modrinth doesn't pay mod creators as much as curseforge does, lol. that's about it. a few mod devs got pissy with a few things modrinth has done in the past, and they were mostly justified for that, but beyond that there's hardly any difference between the two. i like modrinth more just from a user experience perspective personally, searching curseforge feels like cbt sometimes.

>>
>>584330001
For easiest and "best" experience, then yeah, Cobbleverse is probably the very best. It's a sandbox first and foremost, so you might should have a long term goal like Living Dex or something. You'll have to delve into every mechanic if so. The gyms that are in it might not even be a problem for a pokemon knower, but they do scale up in levels, have more/different pokemons than their original counterpart, and they're pretty far apart. So unless you cheese mass-producing rare candies, which you wouldn't even figure out how unless you look it up, then it will take some time and preparation. By default, it turns off all hostile mobs and the farm animals, and also hunger. I turned that off, personally, since without farm animals, food meant something for once. But I'm not the kind of player to abuse villagers and golden carrots.

throttling download speeds to force people to pay a recurring subscription fee wouldn't be the worst thing ever with minecraft considering how small filesizes are for lots of things compared to something like skyrim which has several quest mods that run in the range of like 5-10 gbs. Nexus search functionality is subpar, but it's a million times better than forge
>>
>>584337048
Nexus gatekeeps modpacks behind a subscription and its own launcher which is objectively worse than any of the alternatives. Modding Minecraft is a breeze compared to any game on Nexus.
>>
>>584337247
>Nexus gatekeeps modpacks behind a subscription
I actually didn't even know this because skyrim modpacks are so dogshit that I've never even contemplated using one. Not that minecraft doesn't have a ton of bad modpacks, but there are plenty of diamonds in the rough. The highest heights of the best skyrim modpack is still just mid.
>>
>>584337740
Skyrim modpacks suck precisely because Skyrim doesn't have a good platform for them, and modders are whiny bitches who throw a fit if someone downloads their mod outside of Nexus or their Discord
>>
>>584338063
Eh, I don't know if skyrim modpacks would necessarily be better if they were primarily hosted on a better website. Minecraft modpacks (can) add value to a playthrough by changing recipes, adding custom worldgen, quests, npcs, etc. The vehicle for doing any of this stuff in skyrim would be an individual mod, not a modpack. So skyrim modpacks by their nature are very minimal value-added. They're not an individually-curated experience. They're just a random assortment of things some other guy thought looked cool, which raises the question of why you would ever download a list of things that someone else likes when you could instead download a list of things you like.
>>
>>584331738
Fuck you, CABIN is fun.
>>
>>584338656
They would definitely be better simply because they're more accessible to both players and creators. Imagine if Minecraft modpacks required you to pay a subscription fee to a third party just to download them. No one would play or create them.
>>
>>584338656
>random assortment of things

>>
>>584339063
>They would definitely be better simply because they're more accessible to both players and creators
That's fair enough, actually. I should rephrase. I don't think I would ever consider playing a skyrim modpack irrespective of where it was hosted or how good it was, because they could only ever add very negligible value for me. I'd much rather use my own list of preferred mods than some random person's list of preferred mods.
That being said, it would obviously be a better situation just in general to remove all monetary incentives from modding communities.
>>
>>584339284
No, he's right. The vast majority of modpacks for Skyrim are simply collections of mods without any custom balance patches, custom mods, or even modified settings.
>>584339360
My point is that a good hosting service will attract more people, more people will bring competition, and competition will make modpacks better.

I mean with Skyrim the benefit of a modpack would be not having to open xedit or the CK and make patches because everything would be already patched and balanced for you. Probably wouldn't even have to run dindu or any real external tools except for Pandora/Nemesis and Bodyslide (and that's assuming that they didn't do zeroed sliders for obody out of the box)

But considering the shit that's "popular" for Skyrim, would you really want to spend an entire day downloading a pack just to be hit with shit like Gore and Remiel?
>>
>>584339543
>My point is that a good hosting service will attract more people, more people will bring competition, and competition will make modpacks better.
Yeah, I agree with this. My point is just that, for me personally, there is minimal distinction between the current shitty nexus packs and a hypothetical better pack. I can't see myself using either. The packs could stand to be much better, but I don't know if they would ever be good enough for me to want to use, if that makes sense.
>>584340248

yeah, convenience is basically the only serious value proposition for a skyrim modpack. But the cost of that convenience, as you kind of alluded to, is the lack of modularity. You're stuck with whatever the mod author gave you + whatever you can reasonably stick on top of it. And if the pack creator is a mouthbreathing retard who likes gore and remiel, or immersive armors, or falskaar, then you're fucked.

Nexus is its own can of worms, because the modders there used to throw tantrums if people could download their mod without looking at the mod page and giving them upboats karma on it.
It's actually kinda insane, in minecraft mod authors get literal shekels from people viewing their ads and everyone was still happy to package them as auto-downloaded modpacks that give zero ad views, while the Skyrim culture resisted modpacks for like 14 years purely because the mods would get less updoots.

So now they have whatever fucking ultra-janky "pack" solution which aren't even modpacks, it's just a tool that helps automate downloading a bunch of mods from nexus and can export and import made modlists for people to share.

Back in the days of LE, it was normal to just accept period CTDs in a heavily modded game. A modpack could've then been massively helpful by actually resolving conflicts and patching shit and providing custom patch mods that make everything stable and compatible.
SE somehow managed to magically improve the game's handling so nowadays you can indeed install 500 mods and have a mostly stable game with minimal effort. It's still relatively normal to find weird bugs or shit overriding shit you didn't want or not working properly, so modpacks still have a value add in that the author can guarantee that everything was properly and carefully patched and is carefully adjusted to work together. After all, it still runs on the same rickety engine, and just because the game doesn't CTD all the time anymore doesn't mean shit isn't overwriting each other for no reason.
And then there's stuff you still have to learn how to do "properly", like dyndolod, or the custom skeleton patchers etc., which can just be downright aggravating to get to play nicely if you just want to curate a list of mods without spending days learning the internals of how modding works. Or at least that's how I remember it being last time I seriously played skyrim a few years ago.

The downside of being stuck with the modder's taste definitely applies, but there's a tradeoff here. I do think there's genuine value being added by the ability to pick a well made pack that sounds roughly along your tastes, download it and be able to play the game without crashes, incompatibilities, missing features, and without having to spend a week learning skyrim tooling.

The primary usecase for stevescarts is watching your little carts ride around and do your bidding, like little robot minions.
I could build a mekanism magic box that teleports all the ore and all the wood in a 64-chunk radius into my base, or I could watch my minecarts tunnel through a mountain and occasionally return to dump their cargo into my storage network for processing.

>SE somehow managed to magically improve the game's handling so nowadays you can indeed install 500 mods and have a mostly stable game with minimal effort
the magic of upgrading from 32-bit architecture to 64-bit can't be understated for good old skyrim. I used to have to plan LE playthroughs around saving every minute or so because the game would reliably crash at least every half hour.

These types of mods generally don't add very much in the way of gameplay value (why would I ever have my maids cooking food with coal in a vanilla furnace when I can build an automation line that passively spits out hundreds of cooked chicken?), but I just find the game kind of empty and dull without them.

>>584387074
No, but it would be cool if they were put in the trainer spawn. I have been avoiding those until I need to grind for money; the lack of a healing station probably doesn't help. Could, however, have installed the cobbledollar addon for villagers to encourage combat.
>>
someone should make a mod that has villagers and other seemingly intelligent & friendly mobs crouch repeatedly in response to you doing it like players always do

Even with two enchanted signalum satchels, I managed to fill up most of my inventory space in only about an hour and a half of spelunking thanks to all of my cool mining gadgets. Mostly found tin and iron, but I got a humble little amount of copper as well. More than enough to finish the concrete project tomorrow night.

gonna do this for a couple more hours if I can.

First up is a brewey. Wanted a barrel for each of the four types of "juice" the mod adds. Mahogany

Actually it's the Seasonal Forest from BOP, but functionally it's just the Dappled, yeah.

Do you have 2000-3000 hours to spare? If so it's the only choice. If not then don't bother
>>
>>584391046
went back to the village via waystone a couple of times between fishing; now starting to produce tomatoes. Also found a spare waystone in a pokemon tower a while back that I can set up anywhere; probably gonna keep that in the backpack just in case.

gonna fight a trainer or two for some cash and items; already got one stack of cod, so im taking a break and leveling my mons.
>>
>>584399372
just found out I can use hearty grain as a source of straw and rice when struck with a knife on a cutting board; I now have 3 leads for a proper animal plot, just more random useful stuff for the backpack.

in other news, making wither roses is cheap, if hilariously time-consuming. that's a tier two solar panel. i really don't want to make more.

Do only NEETS play this? Or do they all work remotely? If it was kids I would expect it to be more like RLCraft

I've got 2100 esp/esl/esms and counting and the only crashes I really experience are ones caused by Bethesda jank such as havok crashes when entering a new cell.
Honestly what I'm really surprised that I haven't seen in the Skyrim modpack space that we have a lot of over are are just bare minimum modpacks that download all of the things you'd need to mod like address library, papyrus extender, bodyslde, racemenu, SkyUI etc. that purely exists so it's not a nightmare to track everything down on a new install.

I think you just slow burn at it, taking in the ballpark of a year to complete. Seems like a huge amount of wasted passionate man hours that could be put towards reality. Like a hobby, or learning a new skill, or gaining a qualification. It's a badge of shame that you've spend such a large amount of time on a computer game of all things.
>>
Is there a mod to fix the need to run around the overworld for hours until you find the just perfect spot to build :)
>>
How reliable is A.I when is come to scriptmaking ?
>>
>>584378112
Depends on the version, 1.20.1 always has Forestry and 1.21.1 packs always have productive bees no matter what
I guess maybe Kaleidoscope Cookery? I don't mind playing modpacks without it but I refuse to TOYMY without both it and tavern as it blows Farmer's Delight and Let's Do out of the water.
Starcatcher has also kinda wormed its way into every toymy I have too, though the most recent version cut out support for pretty much every fish mod I use (though the dev said it'll probably be readded later)

gonna do a little fenced area on the back hill for cattle and maybe chickens; saw a few near the forest edge.
>>
>>584410426
chickens where closer, so I got those. I do have plenty of carrots and wheat for baiting either or, there's more pigs and sheep nearby than anything else.
>>
>>584407705
it works until it doesnt.
and then when it doesnt you know literally fucking nothing and the slopcode isnt reasonably readable by a human since it wasnt made by one so you cant actually fix the problem, thus making it so that making it properly the first time is better.

>>584413343
>chud, fix my code and make no mistakes

>>584412253
And there are cows, found some of the grass mons I was looking for on the forest's edge. They didn't drop revival herbs; I'll just have to scout for more. gonna go back to fishing before I take off scouting again.

Got lucky after burning a couple of levels, chose kanto as my first challenge, should be fun, and I was already prepping a team for brock.

I have been catching various mons, still no revival herb so no healing machine outside the first village. gonna start hunting for brocks gym tonight; figure I'll get a boat and take the ocean/rivers to uncover objects on the map i can then mark and walk to.
>>
>>584417342
Found another village on the other side of the ocean; it's got a poké center and a decent biome. Might come back here for training.
>>
>>584418730
a fourth village along the coastline, and I randomly found "brock"; at least I didn't have to track down his gym. There's a poke center on this side of the continent too, so there's plenty of room to level my mons.
>>
>>584419309
god damn Rock Tomb hits like a truck in this one; gonna have to raise a whole team of grass-type mons just to beat him in the future. So I'll head back to base and start prepping.

So, what is FTB and TC drama? Who is faggot and who is tranny?
