How are you guys spending so much time in the downtime segments? The weekly training/meals only take 2/3 minutes tops. Then you do all the side quests by fast travelling using the carriage, do as many dungeons as you want and then burn the rest on Auto Activities. I can kill 90 turns of Free Time in under 30 minutes.

The enemies are already statted pretty high if your baseline for a sticky situation is not "gotta use Aurora or Kalla this turn." The blessings are a form of "dynamic difficulty" - make-your-own experience like much of the game.New Super Mario games do this too, where if you lose a lot, you get a cheat powerup to carry you through the level, but you can ignore it if you like. They did it in Mario Wonder too, where Yoshi is the EZ mode character who can't take damage from enemies or stage hazards. They never actually call him "easy mode" that but that is obviously what he is.I agree it isn't your job to balance the game but it is your job to at least try to make a game fun for yourself.
