IDC about reignited being canceled it's literally a non-issue. Even if we account for alts and bots we can probably assume RS3 averages 15,000 players. That's a decent amount IDGAF who you are. RS3 is an old game and that's impressive. I think Wizard101 gets like 1,000 players peak. Yes, it's still around.

RS3 will probably never truly die because it has niche appeal and people enjoy the core gameplay loop. It's that simple. But muh heckin "Dead game" idiots and Redditors won't shut the fuck up. Not everything needs to endlessly increase in player count.

Hell, I'd argue a game could be good with no players, even games that have shut down. And yes, I will even use singleplayer games as an example. How many people do you think worldwide are playing Jak 2 on the PS2? Probably a decent amount NGL - but not as much as a new game. A thousand? What about the game Ghost Rider on ps2? Probably a few people worldwide. I liked that game even though people said it was shit.

I'm finally playing Dragonwilds and it surprised me that the game went with rs3 lore. I figured they'd just stick with 07 era lore.

The game is pretty generic but has enough unique runescape stuff to be fun. I do wish they had diverged a little more from the survival crafting formula than they did though.

To be honest I might try ironman on both games. I've seen gameplay of both RS3 and OSRS and iron seems comfy. No grand exchange or mtx bs. Just you and the world.

I quit back in 2022 after getting 120 Archaeology and maxing my ironman. I was just like what the fuck is the point. That can apply to anything but RS is just not it man.

I genuinely think about all of the stuff I could've done with my life. I think living life in pursuit of a constant goal is meaningless. I am not Sisyphus. I do not need a "goal." I'm serious. I find simply going outside and looking at the sky to be more fulfilling than being a slave on RS3 or OSRS.

These games are hollow miserable experiences for people who need constant dopamine hits.

Sometimes when I use Deathmark and then Death Skulls, one of the enemies that I did not Deathmark will be instakilled (with the instakill graphic) despite not being Deathmarked and being far above 20% health, sometimes at full health. I can't tell if this is random or if it's something I can do on purpose? It is not mentioned in the tooltips or wiki.

GW2 bosses probably a decent start. Good amount of hp and the mechanics aren't terrible or overwhelming in most of them. I actually noticed that during nm and even 100% enrage of the Ghrazi blood knights weren't bad to get a full living death rotation off in the first 2 phases, so if you have a buddy might be worth trying. Haven't tried other combat styles because I'm still bad and/or undergeared.

Why are hard clue scrolls so dog shit fucking worthless? I have saved a few hundred scrolls that I never had the time to burn through. Easy and medium have generally given me good results over the years; I'm used to getting a hat or a comp bow or something worthwhile whenever I finish one, leaving me with some good pocket change. I have gone through 20 hard scrolls tonight and all I've gotten are staves and rune scrap trash. This isn't worth anywhere near the time or effort required.

well lately i've been experimenting with turning my pocket slot item on
i was using the sara god book but i switched to the new item the chaotic grimoire, i'm liking this thing way more, and it's pretty much free just do a 2-3 minute small dg floor and that basically pays per page (obviously just paying 10k for a god book page is cheaper/more efficient but w/e this still isn't bad)

Yep. To be honest I am in favor of power creep.

I mentioned this in the OSRS General but didn't get a reply because they are all mentally ill - but I had an idea of how powercreep could be managed. We could have Terraria Hard Mode but in RS. After a certain point - the world would scale up to a hard mode variant for EVERY MOB. This would not be like Retail WoW where everything scales to you. The enemies would simply high a higher base level overall. You would still be stronger but you'd have to actually pay a bit more attention.

I think this would be a good idea for both RS3 and OSRS. But it would likely mean that mobs would have to be separate for each player (meaning no mob competition).

I am going to start playing RuneScape today. While I think about my college fling from 3 years ago who I still like. Genuinely think I was cursed with the ability to genuinely love.

If you're going to do hard mode, memorize the wave positioning/luring map
Using Necro makes it a lot easier with the ghost's healing and the AOE options you get. You also get Invoke Death, which I use for every Igneous mob, every big mob, and lava octopus

Challenge one is passed with a Death Skulls and Threads of Fate
Challenge two is passed with Death Skulls and Finger of Death and Bloat
Challenge three is passed with a Malevolent kiteshield and Turtling 4
The only trick is knowing what you can't use on Zuk right before the challenge waves in order to save the abilities

I had a power creep management idea for OSRS as well to not make it runescape 3, by just making 120hp. But it's two faggots talking to eachother about twin peaks. Since I have no one else to propose it to I'll tell it to you.

This would revive old items and give more versatile playstyle such as echo boots for defense and recoil rather than pure offense avernics, blood fury for defense and health absorb rather than pure offense rancour, barrows for defense rather than ferocious gloves, the option of different shields such as elysian for a high chance to decently damage soak, the new shield for an extra spec and guaranteed 2 damage soak of melee or magic, or dinh's which gives ultra high defense while scaling it's attack with defense.

Jagex could easily rebalance the game into multiple playstyles, reverse power creep, and give use to outdated items just by removing those limitations.

For challenge 1 I prefer threads into volley of souls and then some fingers of death. For challenge 2 as long as you hit high doesn't matter too much what you do. Challenge 3 you don't even need that. You can just resonance the first hit and then barricade right before the second hit comes. Adren pots/renewals are really useful for this too.
