Equipping more than one of those won't do anything. For example giving someone two Harpy Gems does not give them the damage bonuses twice which I realized was why certain girls were significantly out-damaging the rest of the party and Reina in particular was the strongest, because almost all the unique gems went to her.Those gems do reduce damage and are good, but the Boss Reduction gems are more helpful since it applies to everything and only takes up one slot. The 30% Boss DR gem can't be dropped by an enemy until the final dungeon but the 15% one is easier to get and you might be able to craft the stronger one earlier.>resistancesThere are a very tiny number of bosses in the game who have the ability to pierce elemental resistances. Of them, those bosses have a few skills that don't bypass your elements to give some breathing room, and the ones that do can still be mitigated with other sources of damage reduction, such as the buffs and boss gems. "Ignores defense" applies only to the defense stat specifically, not elemental resistances.If you've kept track of the buffs you've used up to that point, it should just be business as usual for how to survive the average encounter, and you can just go from there when changing your approach to specific enemies.Of course though this is mostly because I had to since Reina was clearing this deathless and Harpies in the first place are pretty frail; Auto-Hit Evasion and the evasion counters were extremely fun though and I'm glad evasion was feeling good again. It's not as broken as it was in Part 1 but it's perfectly balanced now. Debuffing enemies can also help sometimes, though it won't always work on bosses. Hope this helps.

Certain boss fights such as the majority of the Calamities have the ability to either Null/Counter specific skills used against them, or punishing you if you try to use them. However, many of these fights are also susceptible to very specific Null/Counter skills in return, and while most of them will counter attempts to counter them, there's usually at least one skill that you can use to get through, and it will disable the bosses more dangerous skills.The best example of this (which led to her being one of my favorite bosses in the game even besides she became my personal nemesis) is World Drown, who functions almost as a tutorial on how many Calamity fights will be going forward. She will nullify and HARSHLY counter any attempts to use dancing/singing/time magic against her, but the Piracy Null/Counter: Ocean skill will work against her, with you getting party members who learn this back before her fight if you didn't already have someone who could do it (Reina had it because Piracy is very fun skill set). This allows you to disable World Drown's most dangerous attacks, preventing her from crippling your entire party with elemental weaknesses (which on Paradox difficulty turns nearly any attack she uses into an instant TPK); as a counter-balance however the counter will heal World Drown due to her absorbing nano damage, meaning if you don't have a way to negate or bypass her immunity then it will make it take longer. Combined with her well rounded skill set, including Overslow and Overquick, and World Drown is a perfectly designed early route boss.

There's something really fucky with that stat, and that's what seriously screwed my perspective on defenses because overstacking those was my initial test. So, they seem to do fuckall. Maybe its some chaos thing when those effects only protect from "regular" physical/magical attacks, not their chaos versions, but in general I didn't feel any significant difference. Because its not just "they don't stack" but "they did nothing". 2) Resnstance gems, as they are just setting your resistances to best % you could have and can't be stacked. That is not an issue by itself, but between bosses often having a generous split of attack elements and lack of "general chaos resist" gem.. socket strain makes it too large of an opportunity cost compared to more reliable defense options. Although optimising those for specific encounter would certainly help, so its not completely worthless unlike first case.I am also under a rather strong assumption than Unyielding/Brave Belt/Granberia trait effects actually stack the same way evasion does, but I don't have enough sources to test it properly yet.

Honestly trtr put a lot of effort into the final route and I just love a lot of what there is.I went a little overboard since I haven't talked about this in a while so sorry for the brick but I hope this is able to help anyone who needs it. Only thing that strategy does not cover is occasional "normal" hit but attacks that are both defense piercers and not auto-hits seems to be extremely rare (if any), therefore defense/willpower/hp are enough to eat those. Acting first is a big deal.I've never relied on large health pools on paradox besides the tank because you can quite effectively avoid being hit.

Luka just had his arms broken so he can still make his stupid decisions and not ask X to wish away Chaos but they get the final say if they want to kill Chaos. They still get to have a party it's not a solo to be fair to weaker charactersCharacters are allowed super forms. Going far enough to allow full Arceus helping Pokemon Trainer, Spaceships and etc for Fox and co, Sacred Treasure for Pit, etc.They're also allowed to use Paradox gear, and the job system but mechanics are ignored it's just a statboost to compare them to the VN for ease. They also start at lv1 so no immediate boosts. Special mention here to Byleth since as a teacher he will give jxp boosts to his allies.Other special mechanics are Miis and Pokemon refusing to die, and Miis also avenge fallen alliesSmash is a big crossover so I don't know every game and lore can get weird. In the third route, after the intro, I just did illasburg and restored Ilias Temple, or started to restore it, and got the chaos forge. Now everything kind of opened up. It seems like the game is giving me choices to go wherever I want now. I decided to go to Saloon first because Amira said we should prioritize it. I revived my "spear defense down into bow nuke" set up with Micaela and Lucifina, then went and got Eden. Then I went to Rostrum and wow I'm struggling to get the vampires down. I immobilize them with time stop and curses, but it takes forever to kill them. May need to get stronger and come back later. The damage against the vampires is a lot less than what I was outputting at Harpy village. Luka was hitting the stigmata and corruption bonus for 5 Billion, now its down to 1. And lucifina was putting out 20 Billion and now is putting out just 5. I'm on Very Hard, too.
