How does water purification actually work in Timberborn?
When I take some water that is 50% badwater and pump it to a different pool using a filtering pump, does only 50% of the water get transported? Does the contamination stay on the other side? or is the full amount of water being transported and turned into 100% pure water?
Can I purify a pool simply by putting a pump inside that pumps the water around inside the pool while filtering? Can I also use the badwater option to remove the contamination within a pool to the other side when using a slightly contaminated source?

Trains are great but holy fuck they are so goddamn expensive.

Don't worry, I used that style of "splitter" everywhere till I got actual splitters and it was quite a bit worse than you would expect even without that.
In general I think I had less issues with blockages simply due to the fact everything was slow as shit because well, pyblock.

>Likely just running out of fuel.
Can't be, the fuel tank is as big as the furnace itself, and is drip-fed at 0.05 l/s.
It's pressurized to 59 atm, while also using a liquid relief valve before the variable valve to ensure that air won't hog the throughput.
Furnace shows a steady flow of fuel, with none pooling in the furnace that would indicate it not working.
>you don't have the fuel limiter
The var-valve is on the fuel line.

>>584747461
>>584747587
You're not venting the water coolant, that's your mistake. Yes, everything that has coolant ports has some fresh water in it.
Without it, exhaust heats up the boiler MUCH faster, overcoming the ambient cooling, and then some.
I'm literally not using the coolant ports on the furnace, it's all just the piped exhaust heating everything up.

I'd add the pre-heater to speed the startup, but… it already starts making steam within 20 seconds.
It helps that I added a startup fuel spike to get it up and running faster, before switching to a "cruise mode".

Also HOLY FUCK did I sleep on the air scoops. Quality SUCC at no additional power expenditure.
Funny thing about them is that, when you reverse the airflow, by, say, putting them on backwards, you get suction going in the other direction.
You could, for example, put a couple on your *-air heat exchanger, start moving, and it'll keep a good airflow through the thing.
Mind you, it's good for things that move, but, in theory, you could put them on a velocity pivot/turret ring and let them spin.
Or even attach wings/sails to make it a wind-powered pump. Is it stupid? Probably. Impractical? Possibly. Is it some silly fun? Sure sounds like it.

>change exhaust disposal pump for a backward scoop, add one to air intake
>speed went up from ~70 to 90+ km/h
>now it regularly catches fire, tears itself off the rails, and launches itself high into the air like train Icarus
I think I might be on the right track here.

It seems the contaminant is left behind when water is pumped (and vice versa) as you can see around the pump intake when pumping really low water levels. Also, the fact that most pumps keep stalling makes experimentation very difficult unless you want to enter dev mode and disable evaporation. So if a body of water contains just SOME contamination and is pumped for drinking water, the water that remains at the end is almost entirely red.
So, I conclude that water cannot be purified by constant pumping, but even badwater from a badwater spring or during a badwater tide contains miniscule amounts of drinkable water if filtered.

>Caravans
Sky caravans definitely. They're sick, the whole animals section is fucking crazy. But that is a good call, low demand items could benefit with caravan transit without the need of rail system.

I'm not at the point where I need to weigh my design choices based on what my cpu can handle, but legit need to start considering that. Getting to the end with this one.

>Sky caravans definitely.
Those are a long way off. I am talking just the basic ones you will get pretty quick.
>low demand items could benefit with caravan transit without the need of rail system.
Most items are pretty low demand honestly. I've absolutely overbuilt a bunch of shit but there's items where I'm only making a half or a quarter of a belt of them because a full belt would be absurdly massive.
I've been working on getting logi science going but I've had to take a detour to make borax so I can upgrade my iron plate production as that's been dramatically underperforming.
>>
>>584824449
i'm surprised you're that build out and don't have borax yet, it's a huge bump to iron and aluminum plus basically every other metal later
guess i don't know how you actually source the stuff in pyblock. tar washing?
though i'm not sure

>>584782737
Still looking for a way to nerf belt weaving once and for all. Michael Hendricks must be stopped.
>>
>>584826036
I've just been rebuilding my base more or less so I've just been picking items at somewhat random and building them out. It's not really efficient but I'm having fun and learning more about paramaiterization and circuits than I likely would have otherwise.
>guess i don't know how you actually source the stuff in pyblock. tar washing?
Borax comes from ground borers which annoyingly means it effectively comes from iron and fish. Also the only way to get Antimony too.

I'm pretty much always on a surplus? The load is spread evenly across all the power providers so these ought to burn through the produced hydrogen eventually.
I do have actual backup power elsewhere in case anyway.

Got it working, but I run into an issue where the winches will suddenly extend when they get really short. It happens to all at once and then they will eventually bounce back up. I'm lifting from the bottom and it runs the risk of flipping the container over.

Does anyone know what causes that and how to get around it? I don't want to make the whole thing bigger if I don't have to.

@Clog make a mod for Oxygen Not Included that lets me vent atmosphere in the four cardinal directions to physically move planetoids around the star chart.

Make it so planetoids can collide. Add a new base building that lets me fire dupes across space to other planetoids if they're directly next to each other, include automatic pathing to other planetoids.

Make one or two mistakes and forget about them then fix them later.

Someone last thread posted this, Took a look at it today.

Like why? The cooling set-up doesn't get to 30 to 40. Your using inefficient cooling with 5x5 engines while they will cool things they just don't do it well. You've got no lock for slider rail causing instant start up and your using modded blocks as vanity.

Gears on the large pistons aren't even optimal.

Your choking the boiler for no reason

Satisfactory works best in coop, there are a bunch of things you can do in parallel with optional research trees and exploration. The other two don't have multiplayer at all.
DSP has the scale, seeing the stuff you've built from space and especially the sphere. And it's otherwise a streamlined factorio: you start out with construction bots, personal laser and shield, your guy can also smelt ore and eat science packs like a lab, etc.
COI is closest to simulating an actual industry, most of your production goes into satisfying demand of food, medicine, maintenance parts, etc in a fragile pyramid that you have to keep balanced so it doesn't collapse. Another unique thing is that mining actually removes terrain, and dumping material adds to it.
>>
>>585002074
of those three I say DSP

satisfactory is actually borderline unplayable as a factory game
COI is a colony management game with engineering elements
DSP is just Factorio but space and mega structures
>>
Had a whoopsie in satisfactory where I accidentally depowered the sinks eating my polymer resin byproduct and thus had a fuel crisis, salvaged only by having built a massive slab of power storage cells. So I immediately built about four hundred more, and this obviously caused some nasty stuttering.
So I ripped out about half of them, and now I'm sitting on roughly three hours of pure battery function before everything goes to hell in a handbasket. It works for now, but that only lasts until I expand more. Anyone know a giant power storage mod I can abuse to get ludicrous uptime without the entity count?

The best way to not run out of power in Satisfactory is to just build more power generators. All you need for gas gens is oil and water if you use diluted fuel. Coal is the same.

My one tip to prevent power failure is to have your power generation + miners all on one circuit so you can easily cut the SINGLE power line to separate it from the rest of your grid in case of failure. That way your power generation can run itself forever and allow you to slowly build it back up so it doesn't blow the breaker.

So long as you have some sort of sink for everything, you'll be fine. I also have it so overflowing animal feed products will go to the animal feed mixers before they go to the digestors. My only real problem is I underestimated just how much fuel gas it was going to make at this level of crop consumption and cramming in sugarcane and poppies might look a bit awkward
>>
>>585056609
it's okay, gets repetitive quickly though (unless you're gonna try building a MAM (make anything machine) with circuits, then it's interesting (i tried and failed, it's kinda tricky))

This honestly, is what I meant by redesigning everything.

What's it called when you have an existing paradigm, suppose the existence of a class of thing that could change that paradigm, and adjust to account for its existence?

>the winches will suddenly extend when they get really short
Stupid winches be like this. I've had the same problem with using them for fuel rod loading.
Had to scrap a design because they stretched like crazy and failed to keep the rods high enough to clear the hatch.
Solution? Avoid using winches for heavy stuff without ample tolerance, simple as.
Consider putting the connecting part on a track, and merge both sides so you get more oomph out of them AND keep it symmetrical.

>>
>>585133098
There's also the spoilage mechanic that's fairly interesting
if you play with spoilage enabled uranium "decays" within a set amount of hours into its lower energy isotopes
only caveat is that spoilage in py is absolute garbagio to play with at the moment and those istotopes can get up to 10 IRL hours to decay which is suboptimal

Gas boiler into steam is a good way to void it if you already hooked it into your main fuel gas line and STILL have excess. 7 GW out of 4 seeps, no modules, just 600 units of crude and t1 oil plants. I had to cave in for a t2 turbine, but that's relatively cheap all things considered.
If I'm feeling fancy later I can speed up the seeps and increase production and efficiency beacon the plants to squeeze a few extra gigs of power.

How should one clear ash early game in pyanadons? Should I just leave it in the machine and clear them manually? I'm talking about burner mining drill/stone furnace setup. currently I'm still hand feeding everything

Trying some new mods in ONI. Most important is "rephysicalized", which adds a ton of conservation-of-mass autism. (It's not going great, could be worse.)
>>
>>585252093
shove in a box until ash separation then centralize its disposal
>>
>>585252093
If you're handfeeding anyway then just handremove

Eventually you'll get ash separation which unfortunately has a massive footprint and a lot of ore byproducts you'll either have to fold in or clear out
>>
>>585252093
>>585273796
if you're not pyblocking you can use a much smaller and less complex ash separation that simply burns off the soot, but that doesn't come online until the start of py1
until then, yeah, clear it by hand until it's too much of a pain to do, then set up automated box-shoving for anything that constantly runs (power, miners, smelting)
i'm half-ish way to logi science and i still manually empty most of my assemblers because they just don't generate enough ash to care about. drones will handle it eventually, it's fine

Barely keeping things together, it feels like.
Many of you sadists will be pleased to learn that combusting generators require oxygen. Many of you masochists will be over the moon to learn that doing so produces ash. "What is ash good for?" I hear you jumping up and down asking, excitedly. Well. You can heat it up to seven thousand degrees Fahrenheit to get liquid carbon and hydrogen. Or it can be used as filtration medium, which is almost reasonable except I've already got 8 tons of the stuff for barely any power produced. Or you can feed it to sage hatches. This, I am thinking, is the way to go, since food isn't exactly plentiful. (I cranked most of the difficulties up to medium-hard.)
So. Power is not great. We have spied through the telescope a swampy asteroid which will likely have plug slugs. Of course feeding them requires metal. Which the planet has in volcano form. But reaching the planet requires metal. Well, Ronivan's Legacy reduces metal output even with the metal refinery to 50%, and Rephysicalized trades 2% for a different metal. And heavily reduces worldgen mass. So a very substantial fraction of all remaining aluminum is being smelted to get more metal.
Of course I have no gaskets for steam turbines, so taming the volcanoes will be extra interesting. (I will simply dump water on them.)

Even if you don't use the ore, ash sorting does improve the storage compression greatly. Once you have splitters to filter the ash from belts, and to prioritize burning the resulting coal dust. A couple iron chests will last until py1 when you can burn down ash into nothing, if you choose to.

Captain's Log, stardate uhhh cycle 129. Also I'm not a captain yet. Where was I.

An alien symbiotic microbe from outer space has taken over nearly the entire colony without anyone even noticing. Symptoms include unusual productivity and mild stress, but if left untreated for several cycles all benefits are lost and the stress increases to an unmanageable 50%. It was only from increased stress levels that the "symbiote" was detected. Unlike most microbes, the symbiote is perfectly adapted to high radiation levels of outer space and indeed multiplies prolifically in the presence of radiation. It does die in oxygen, which we are woefully short on. Nearly every inch of the asteroid's surface is covered in a nearly-invisible blue alien goo that has penetrated into the very heart of the colony. The colonists will likely not survive.

Current attempts to ameliorate this emergency:
- quarantine our one shine bug to inhibit growth
- attempt to develop a vaccine
- dump CO2 into a beeta hive, the frozen planetary core, and increase oxygen production
- release chlorine from storage and dispense bleach stone
- construct a large massage clinic (and power to run it...)
- maintain duplicant in printing pod
The course of the disease seems slow enough to allow the colony to limp down a road filled with corpses.

>Once you've updated, blueprints and save games cannot be downgraded to 2.0.

I didn't start with a rancher this time, so the pips got loose into the edge of the radioactive biome, where they found & planted some saturn critter trap seeds, to which Diseases Expanded adds "hungerms" that they emit just like sporechid zombie spores, but instead they double your food consumption for a few cycles. (Only Tasha got sick, but there's still a bit of a mess to clean up.) Saturns were pretty boring and definitely benefit from this complication. And (and this looks to be unintentional) critters can be infected, doubling their metabolism. It would be cool to make a ranch taking advantage of them.

It was inevitable. The models were not made with daisy-chaining in mind at all, as such on many of them the power connectors do not have a clear line to the connector of another machine in the same line. I don't see any way they could have fixed this other than changing every single machine model with issues. I'm sure that's way more work than such a minor feature could be work.

Taking things way slower. Turns out 200°F salt water is hot so I ran some cool slush through it to cool it down and then dumped it in space. But this was a mistake because water is much more precious...? Well, the lettuce makes mud, tons of the stuff, but still hot of course. (Feels like a mistake of the mod dev, perhaps not thinking about the recent bleachstone req removal...?) I built a counterflow heat exchanger, but with a poverty-inspired twist: the liquid sits in the pipe until the sensor reaches the hot temperature. The desired efficiency is easy to reach this way.
The alien goo is very easy to deal with if you know it's there. (One of the mods changes ore scrubbers, they're basically instant & dupes pick it up. Pretty sure vanilla's the opposite? Yes, they're quite worthless in vanilla) Safe excursions to the surface depend on bleachstone... and keeping Captain Jean Luc Picard locked inside: he is a FILTHY duplicant who refuses to wash his hands! But asking "What Would Picard Do" has been an occasional source of inspiration.

Finally got around to rebuilding this display to have modular dials and gauges.
The red and green squares are the 1-6 pilot seat inputs because I can never remember which ones I've toggled on. Maximum values for the dials are just set with properties to save on notes, I don't expect to ever need them to be dynamic. The green values on the gauges moves along with the level and gets clamped between the min and max so they don't overlap.

Since its meant to be as generic as possible I need to think of some more stuff to put on it that I would want on all my vehicles, I might build in a system that lets you toggle between different screens so I can have specialized systems link into it too.
What else would you guys consider adding to a display like this? Got any design ideas?

>>585077459
I think I'll just keep the winches so that I can keep some slack in the system, and also keep it more true to the real life side loaders.
It's hard to line up sideways cargo if I use tracks since it becomes more rigid, and I want to have as few moving parts as possible since every extra subgrid weakens the strength and crates are heavy as fuck.

If I have worse winch issues I might try and revisit a rear loading method with a tilting bed.
>>
>>585550626
I get it, rope/cable/hose is a "soft" connection, there's more wiggle room, but that can just as easily become a problem of it's own, too.
In that case, maybe try using pulleys to combat the stretching? I *think* they help in that regard.
I didn't think of trying them for the fuel rod loading and, frankly, I've moved on past that specific design anyway.

>It's hard to line up sideways cargo if I use tracks since it becomes more rigid
Does it mean that both connectors are separate subgrids?
Because having them as parts of one subgrid would create these same problems with lining things up, no?
As for strength, you could also add rail or hardpoint connectors to lock things in place at specific points during loading.

In celebration of Factorio finishing active development: show us your earliest available runs.

Pictured is my very first factory on (pirated) 0.12.35. I had no idea of what I was doing and what I was supposed to be doing. My idea of automation was to have 1 assembling machine for each item and had feed inputs and outputs to their respective chests. Anything more complex was a nightmare of spaghetti, I have no idea how I got as far as Battery production with this mindset.

I was an inch away from quitting out of boredom forever until I got the insight of placing the science pack assemblers next to the belts that directly feed the labs.

Now I have 3,000 hours played.

Nope, they've remained the same since the team began. That's never been a required thing though, so I figured at least having an option to change them up too once in a while is a nice idea. Last time they were in polls they went to the top anyway, this way people focus on the other players when voting :^)

I am finally going after the metal planet. Ensign Wesley Crusher was stuffed into a tin can and fired in its general direction. Unfortunately the tin can was carrying my old nemesis, the symbiotic alien microbe. Disinfecting a space ship is incredibly tedious. You have to suck all the air out, and guess what dupes in oxygen masks do that's right they exhale CO2 so I had to setup a stupid battery thing to let a gas pump pull a full vacuum which required also partial disassembly, and THEN the interior can be disinfected. But not re-assembled. Because of course the outside is totally covered in goo. So the exterior also has to be sterilized, and THAT requires not tracking goo back over what was just cleaned, and I had to isolate the launchpad and put in scrubbers.
And guess what infesting the other asteroid as I was figuring this out. Lol. Anyways THAT wasn't so bad. (I only set Ensign Crusher and it's going way too slow.)
>>
>>585653037
Third fruit sure, but items needed in the decay chain would add to the pain and suffering too, say bioflux decaying into something, and using that to make another item that has uses if it decays twice maybe.

I did, factorio's raison d'etre, it's defining feature that keeps it the king of the genre despite all the clones attempting to dethrone it is it's optimization
Like a shooter that supports 100+ players vs one that supports max 30. They may be better or worse at certain things, but the 100+ player one simply can offer you experiences the other is incapable of. Factorio supports scale like no other /egg/ does
In that light py is like an anti-factorio factorio mod, full of design that goes against the strengths of the game itself.
Look at anons' builds:

These are TINY. That's because py has a minecraft's mod design, a truckload of recipes that either compress shit or do noting except be an extra crafting step that's requiring in extremely low quantities.
Except minecraft mods have the decency of making applying the upgrade painless. Swap some coil, swap the casing, swap the hatch, the most involved routine upgrade thing you need to do is swapping the cables which also goes like a breeze if you use something like matter manipulator or know your shit and how to step up voltage.
Meanwhile in py it's most often "add extra ingredient to double output" which fucking sucks.

It's not all bad. Py is at it's best when it makes you balance a bunch of high-quantity plates to try and make use of the whole buffalo, so to say. Like coal processing

Man my oxygen build is small because it's only fueling three smelteries currently and the meat is quite literally a way for me to void excess meat byproducts so it doesn't need to be particularly big.
Most of my shit is tiny because to make even a yellow belt of some items it either takes a insane amount of incredibly expensive buildings or 5+ belts of input to sustain the production which would see me spending more time designing these and getting all the machines made over just settling for 1-2 belts of input for whatever comes out the other side.

And on that note, seems more and more obvious that basedbean is just quite bad for feed production even though it has the highest yield recipe

Wesley went on a return mission to the metal swamp planet and he built himself a home. Had to skill-scrub him 4 times. But he got backed into a corner with high stress and little food (he's a ravenous binge eater), so he had to return abruptly w/o loot. Fortunately he managed to uncork a gold volcano. Unfortunately bog bucket bugs, which cause random damage ticks, broke into the abandoned base (a polluted tile decayed I think?) Also the alien goop somehow crawled past the waterlock, so now they're fighting for control—difficult to clean up without atmo suits.
Wesley's made up for his shortcomings by mining space POIs for Al & Hg.
Then I got glass made, and so solar panels, but capped at 4 due to crap wiring. (More grids? Hmm.)
Another important development is looking closer at Ronivan's mods. I had a fair bit of wood and a critical shortage of polluted dirt, so why not make ethanol? Oh and if I spend some precious chlorine, I can make plastic, and then turn it into fiberglass for ~3x (superior?) gaskets. So now steam turbines are theoretically available, but what about steel? Turns out the beeta biome has rust in it. Oh but wait making "syngas" makes even more p.dirt, oh but wait syngas can be used in a "rayon loom" to get (fiber I assume) and a way Better p.dirt source. Atmo suits: reachable.

However my motive for playing was to practice making competent decisions... which hardly seems to be happening. I played a couple sessions of spage w/ the computer saying 'critic' every 10m, to prompt some reflection. This worked, but I tired of it—perhaps it's like the "only program 4 hours a day" thing. I should do this w/ ONI and not play for so long.
A problem is this "stupid handicap" thing. Always make a unique bathroom design (picrel): totally worth it. Preserving biomes: just get atmosuits, or clean it up. For some reason only use Wesley for away missions: stupid. Only accepting dupes that fit a TNG character: I don't even know TNG that well.

The new mixed materials on storage is a huge reduction in pops needed for landclearing or even normal mining by replacing the need for most ore sorting. You'll still need to fit in belt filters if you want to split resources but that's way better than spamming a bunch of small ore sorters or a big one.
I can't really think of a situation you'll actually need an ore sorter for that a belt filter couldn't do instead. As long as the waste product doesn't back up everything should keep moving without jams.

It's out on experimental. Ore sorters were always a bandaid for mining multiple materials at once. The blog mentioned that mixed materials are performance heavy so maybe that's why it took so long to do it correctly.

These new overlays will be great for finding that one building that has the wrong recipe selected or a screwed up input.

>'there's a lot of microcrafting but you just plug everything into ae2 instead of needing to actually do builds'
not what I meant
A) it's about spread, the most common upgrades are easy to do and pure benefit, the the others are not but provide a big jump in efficacy of whatever they're doing
py is the reverse, the most common upgrades are a PITA because they require brand new extra shit, and you have a good chance of being forced into re-building. Direct replacements are rare. Compare that to space ex that's shorter yet adds 6 extra tiers of modules
B) yes, patterning 10 recipes in a row and letting ae2 hadle it IS better design than having to do the same with 1 building for each recipe and routing 7 of the 300 items you make across your entire base
but I wouldn't even describe those as upgrading, just progression
the real upgrading comes from unique bespoke things: flying to a different planet to mine ore for the stuff you want directly, siphoning gas giants, fighting a boss for a unique drop, breeding bees

>forgot search terms: Oxygen Not Included ONI oni mod mods modlist modpack mod-pack

>>585784779
Also:
Each mod you add slightly multiplies the instability of everything. You certainly want to be lean and trim (which that mod list kind of isn't.) Anything that touches the UI is especially prone to breaking. Mod authors often drop out and you have to look for a '(fixed)' version. Steam kinda sucks at that. Sometimes the game hard-crashes or the crash screen doesn't help, so try unity3d/Klei/Oxygen Not Included/Player.log.
If you're doing extensive work on mod configs, make backups far away because Steam looooves to nuke things.

A fairly uneventful session. Alien goo somehow snuck into the colony, but was easily dealt with. (You don't have to leave auto-disinfect disabled the entire game.) We picked up a friendly macroscopic alien hitch-hiker named Neelix, who offered us his culinary expertise. The lettuce is now being cooled by liquid ammonia using the 1kg trick. It is then dumped into a chamber where it boils, gets pumped out, and sent back to the compressor. I put the compressor next to a second salt water geyser. However I have not automated it. (Honestly, it's dull.)
Here is an unfinished build. Ideally: wood & salt go in and oxygen comes out. Along with some extra power, polluted water, CO2, clay, table salt, borax, and rayon fiber.
>>
>>585864764
Mmm...nyo

Actually I can ALMOST play it satisfactorioly on a Steam Deck (meaning I could do it on my Steam Controller) but the problem is that it's still not as good as keyboard and mouse even with all my keybinds and shit

Biggest issue is combat. I can't clear nests using a controller like I can normally
>>
Got any cool new wide spaceship designs now that width no longer matters directly for speed? I feel like making them pencil dicks is still by far the best thing you can be doing in general because you have less area to cover with turrets, but it's neat that you can make sillier shapes or just have a few tiles wider than the main ship and not be penalized immensely for it.
Starting a """"proper"""" rush to space and keeping your hands clean run right now. Excited to see how shit it's going to be with the new expansion mechanics and not being able to wall off biter nests anymore. And by excited, I mean not really in the slightest.
>>
>>585877368
but more width equals more asteroids to collect which equals more ammo production for more turrets
>>
>>585861929
You can probably get it done with a Steam controller. Maybe even a regular controller, Factorio is available on Switch after all so presumably they do have a way to play it with a conventional controller too.
>>
>>585878762
I spent way too long making it work on the deck and it DOES work on the deck but I'd still rather use a mouse a keyboard

is this the sort of thing they were envisioning when they locked splitters behind a dozen hours of gameplay?
>>
>>585988665
Being forced to split belts with inserters makes getting actual splitters much more rewarding.
>>
>>585988665
In the lifespan of Py the lack of splitters is but a blip
>>
>>585988665
honestly i think yes, given that even before 2.0 you started py with filter inserters
not really any other way to handle stone+kerogen, and you need to handle it somehow

Well now the truck avoids hitting the sides of the bridge, unlike this chump.
PID needs to be tuned but it stays in the center despite the oscillations at the max speed of 34m/s.

I kind of wish there was a color sensor so that I could make sure it stays on all kinds of roads, it only works here because of the railings.

Elevated rails would've solved this

You really thing that'd work? Environment's largely static and minimally responsive.
I imagine, you'd have better luck making some sort of point-to-point navigation, making a route via series of previously-recorded coords.

is 6 science per minute really enough for pyanadons?
>>
>>585955020
2 years after everyone did i'm coming up on this choice for the first time.
Reason tells me to settle for vulcanus, curiosity tells me to go to fulgora but my spirit couches for gleba and i'll regret it if i don't travel there first.

6 per minute is probably overkill honestly

I tried that and indeed they run out as expected.

That daft cunt Schema should've released it when java games were still all the rage thanks to minecrap.
He'd have all the money he could need to finish the damn thing properly, instead of condemning it to development hell it's in now.

Well, looks like there's even less rush to vote now.
The powers that be have decided, for the first time in our history, that our 'proof of interest' was... insufficient, and our signup has been rejected. I could whine and complain, but to be honest my habit of concsiously avoiding spamming about it every VGL was gonna cause this eventually. Guess I'll have to let up on that for the future. Sorry lads.
It'll be a while until any friendlies or mini cups happen, but I'll try to make up for this by joining in them when they show up.

I'm also curious how this happened, seems like both were on the same direction and on their own tracks from that picture,
if any baguetes are present, could you tell if any of those are high velocity, bullet or something like that?
It does look like the red one was "hit" only past halfway, so maybe a faulty switch or track swung one of the trains into the other?

I might be a retard, but I think you shouldn't bother with malling buildings like this at this point. They're very complicated and you need a bunch of different ones. It's going to be a huge pain in the ass and waste resources

You probably should just have a bunch of boxes full of small parts, air core inductors, pipes, belts, and inserters

Not a Spain guy, but from my research
>Computer error in the signaling system caused all trains on a stretch to be automatically stopped
>Somebody in the government overrides the safety system to allow a high-speed train to keep moving, and at full speed
>Other train does not start moving, physics happens
The aftermath photos are misleading - they were both on the same track before the collision and going the same direction

I was only thinking for roads, they're either grey on a green/orange terrain or they have white markings, I would be able to make lane assist work with a color sensor.
I understand not adding it to the game though, I bet it's not the simplest thing and the payoff is tiny.
Recoding every single road isn't as fun, and I'm happy to drive myself if it's not a super thin bridge.

>>586009170
Thats fuggin sweet, although I guess it also wouldn't work on standard roads.
My other project right now is lidar terrain mapping for a submarine, hopefully going to end up with a 3d display. Going to work on that tonight after work if I get my truck finished.

so in factorio terms they manually drove a 15 wagon artillery train into an automatically stopped ore train
>>
>>586035178
where did the artillery come from, they're both passenger trains
>>
>>586031046
nta, iirc these building specifically are actually the "intermediate" buildings that get used in a fuckton of other
>>
>>586031828
oh wow, I guess they managed to slow the train some, even if it was wrecked, I'm thinking if it was full speed they would be mushed together pretty badly
also this has to be some of the dumbest human errors, if not some covert terrorist act of some sort
