>>585072095I massively prefer WoW because I actually prefer playing the game. FF14 is just nonstop dialogue and cutscenes with an extremely minimal amount of combat interspersed. There are occasional dungeons and trials that you have to do that can be quite good later on but you'll really want to look up a guide for them because some of the mechanics are difficult to impossible to figure out on the fly. And it can take ages to actually get a group for them and you HAVE to do them to continue progressing the story and you HAVE to do the story. I also tend to enjoy putting on music or shows or podcasts or something while playing wow but it doesn't really work in FF14 that well because of all of the cutscenes. I tried going back to FF14 again a few months ago and wasn't feeling it at all.

Trying to figure out what I want to play when the game actually launches, and I'm hoping people who have paid more attention to the changes and whatnot here can help me out. I want to play 2 characters, one on each faction and each a different class, and I've narrowed it down to these six options within 3 classes. It's either dwarf/troll hunter, human/orc warlock, or dwarf/tauren shaman, and these are how they would look if I created them. There wasn't an explicit mistake that ruined the game, bu there were enough failure points occurring for people to get tired and quit. SoD was just the team seeing how far they could push the bounds of classic+, and there were a lot of really awkward changes and moments that I can remember getting burned by. I think its a bit of a personal question because different people were bothered by different thingsThe raid tiers went from 10 players -> 20 players -> 40 players, which caused failure points where guilds would collapse if they couldn't find more members or merge with another group. My guild was already struggling to get people together for a full raid during phase 2, and we all knew phase 3 was probably gonna kill the guild. On a personal level, I was getting really tired of all the gold sinks. I recall having to dump a ton of gold into a new quest during phase 2 for a BiS armor piece, which felt really awful. I never cared for professions/the auction house/gold farming so I was always broke. I was already paying for consumes and that quest basically bled me dryPvP was also the source of several BiS items during the first two phases. On its own thats fine, but PvP's balancing suffered from all of SoD's new items and abilities. It all felt a bit like an afterthought. I personally can't stand PvP so it was a real slog to farm everything. I understand thats just part of classic thoughI quit at the start of phase 3 after I missed out on this massive leveling (and I think gold?) oversight. Blizz didn't tune a new world event properly so anyone who played it could rocket through levels 40-50. The event then got nerfed, and anyone who missed out was shit out of luck. 40-50 is a lot of time spent leveling and it sucked to see that a subsection of the community got a fast pass out of it
