The Sonic community makes me feel embarrassed for using LLMs to help with programming my fan game even though LLM usage is now extremely common in software development.I know how to read and write code, but I'm not the best at it, so LLMs are another help for my poor skill just like google, stack overflow, youtube, discord servers, forums were (and still are) before LLMs became as good as they are now.Both SAGExpo and SHC require you to put up an AI disclaimer and describe how you used AI in your project and I like this, but it does create witch hunts.For example, there is one entry from this year's SHC that used LLMs for coding and it got a bunch of comments flaming it and calling the entry vibe coded.I'll try to make my fan game excel at gameplay and level design to compensate for AI usage (even though I never finished a fan game before)

Like, the kind of dynamic Sonic & Tails have is the kind that only really works if Tails is the focus. Like Sonic with Elise, or Chip, or whoever else. They are the focus, they are the protagonist. Not Sonic. That's largely how Tails should function. All of Tails' character traits only work if he is the actual focal character on a narrative level, like the kid that needs a "fairy" like Sonic in his life to guide him or whatever. Like, in a way where like, Tails' story in SA1 just being "his story in SA1" makes no functional sense, that kind of development should be his arc throughout the franchise as a whole. SA1 alone can't just be the game where he reached his peak only for a couple games later to just reset him back to step 1 on a functional level. if Tails is Sonic's sidekicks and he's defined by self-improvement, growth, believing in himself, and so on, then Tails' aspirations and development should be what drive the story forward. And that in turn should highlight Sonic himself as that aspirational figure that Tails and everyone else looks up to. And I usually emphasize that characters like Amy and Knuckles should also retain this same kind of focus alongside Tails in this regard. Like SA1's structure should be the default, more or less. Or at least a better version of what it tried to do. Tails, Amy and Knuckles all revolve around Sonic in different ways, so let their perspectives be what drive the plot, and because they all center on Sonic, he's still in the center of the focus anyway but without having to push anyone else aside. Like, it feels like what the series wants to be is like... as expansive as One Piece but the main character is Kamina, and that doesn't entirely work without Simon being the actual focus driving things forward.
