Noctis has a guarantee 4 hit attack once you max him, never misses. Pair that with a accessory that gives you the element the cactuar is weak to and you'll instant kill the cactuar every time.

some characters are well developed, some are half-baked. it's the cost of having an ensemble. none of them except auxiliary characters like Mog, Umaro, and Gogo have zero backstory.
Like that sequence with Setzer; it's small, but you learn a lot about him. Why he has an airship, why he's scarred, and why he is the way he is. All from a single cutscene! There's also something to be said for having each character be a little mysterious.

FF BE was great, specially doing the hard content with low rarity units or using all resources available instead of using the FOTM stuff.
Sadly that went out of the window when 6 or 7 stars (I don't remember well) units got released and the powercreep was so extreme that 80% of the roster couldn't catch up, if I remember correctly that was when the story started on the other planet and Rain was mind controlled by the enemy and the Veritas were the guys guys fighting alongside you.
Downing bosses with 3, 4 and 5 start units was so satisfying, specially when low tier units were able to unlock high level combos like Edgar's chainsaw or they could awaken their skills to +2 making them really good like Rosa's healing and mana regen.

I like Rain so far. He reminds me a bit of a more "older" Bartz with a hint of Kira Yamato. I hope he gets broken in the game though, as much as I love go getters, it's even better to see them BREAK.

Just beat Sephiroth on Expert, and it's not as hard as I thought at first. You definitely can beat him around level 40 with the right build. It only took me 3 tries to figure it out. The only times I failed were because Sephiroth can act three times per turn and I messed up by spamming Unity. If he gets three actions in a row, uses Heartless Angel first and then follows up with AOE magic right after, it just wipes your entire party. So here's my advice if you haven't fight him, do not use Unity when Sephiroth enters his second phase, make sure everyone learns Arms Akimbo from Firion too and you should be fine.

In Resonance though, Clive doesn't cause Meltdown, Terra causes Meltdown. Do you think Resonance is difficult? How? Why? And are you aware that all Expert mode does is make you deal 0.8x damage while giving the enemy 1.6x HP and stagger, effectively halving the damage you deal? I don't even think enemy logic is any different, I think you literally just deal half damage and take more damage. From a numbers perspective, this is objectively more "difficult", but I would not call this good balancing or good difficulty. It's like the laziest thing that could possibly happen. I wonder what other FF games would feel like if you just did 50% less damage as a patch/mod.
