The reason for the bug failure with the HMG emplacement is the nature of the weapon and how bug missions flow. Bugs you tend to be a lot more mobile. Cover is of little importance when distance is the primary concern against 60 melee units scrambling to gut your balls off. Yeah there are times you stand and fight but they tend to be very short skirmishes and usually mobility is a much better option. The only time it consistency is better to stand the line is during a bug breach. Which given how they are on a timer limiter there is only so much blood to squeeze from that rock. The current numbers actually track with a majority of breaches having a HMG adding to the kill count. However they also tend to spawn things the HMG is shit at dealing with and force you to hop out. Like titans and chargers. You can bitch and moan and wail about bugdivers not doing their part but this MO was rigged from the start. That stratagem is dog shit on the bug front.
