I finished reading chapters 49&50It feels weird to say this but I think it needed to be a bit longer. That final confrontation with the supposed final boss, compared to for example the fight the 4 beasts had, wasn't as epic (>reddit word but whatever). That said, the aftermath of seeing the Ark in the surface was bittersweet and I liked the interactions SKK had with the Nikkes as he went to the Outpost and whatnot. The entire final battle story was incredibly dissapointing and low stakes imo. They wasted four years of buildup on this and deflated even Mirror as a future big bad. Also, corruption getting cured like it a regular cold is hard to take serious when the game built itself upon the threat of corruption. 3rd anni was a mess but they pulled off the feel of a big decisive battle much better than this time and they had the tools to make it work here, they just chickened out at every major plot point
