It happened again. Just rebooting doesn't seem to fix it, but every time I change the kernel on reboot, it does go back to normal, and it seems to stay fixed for at least one boot into the latest kernel after that. I haven't restarted my PC enough times to tell whether it has anything to do with the kernel or is just something that happens on some boots, but I haven't seen this happen on the second-latest kernel yet, so maybe I'll keep using that one and see if it ever happens again.
If all kernels after a certain version are going to be occasionally either making the MDIO adapter hot for no reason or misreporting my MDIO temperature, then I guess I'll just have to ignore it (and if my motherboard breaks, then hope they still sell motherboards compatible with my other already outdated parts). I have no idea where to file a bug report for this because I don't know what the actual problem is.
>>
>>586259521
Sounds like a wrong kernel driver. I don't have that sort of skills for debugging this.
Try 'lsmod' and see what has been loaded in.
Then you can blacklist the driver from loading
>sudo vim /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
>blacklist driver_name_from_lsmod
Then update initramfs (don't know how its done in mint).
Try asking Claude, even though I hate obsessive AI usage as it makes people dumb, LLMs have made debugging Linux issues much simpler (and now google is also so bad that it's not really helpful to do searches even). As long as you notice the false paths and hallucinations.

>"CtrlDown": "CursorToViewBottom",
>"Alt-Up": "CursorToViewCenter",
>"Alt-Down": "CursorToViewCenter"
And then ctrl+f = find, ctrl+e vsplit/hsplit and you can open two views etc. I made my own simple syntax highlighting scheme for C. It takes a while to configure stuff but it seems to be the least offending text editor for me at least
If you are just editing bunch of config files or writing some notes it really doesn't matter what editor you are using. Programming is a different ordeal because you want to be efficient. I mostly use terminal anyway.

When does Kernel 7.3 release on Fedora 43? It's been out already for couple of weeks but they are still pushing out 7.2.x. I'm really curious to see if the new kernel improves gayming performance.

CS2 native Linux version is pure garbo. It's funny how Valve is pushing Linux but their own versions are so crappy. Of course it has improved a little bit, CS2 used to be a lot worse couple of years ago...

My xorg server fork runs smoother than kwin wayland now on prime setup. Kwin runs a game at 60 fps but displays it at around 30 fps (when using prime-run) but in my xorg server it displays it at a smooth 60 fps.
It does zero-copy direct scanout on a nvidia prime setup even when using prime-run and notifications that appear above a game also automatically put in the overlay plane so there is no compositing even then.

X11 or xorg as the zoomers call it these days is always the fastest option. It's really noticeable in CS2, zero input lag. Adding gamescope on top of it adds quite a bit of input lag actually.

Yuzu (the last version) AppImage with FPS++ runs 30-60 fps bit I just lock it down to 30. Newer emulators like Azahar or wtf it's called have introduced new graphical bugs and regressions.
Might test this recomp as I still have my game files except the updates are separate nsp files. There's also a peculiar thing, Nintendo began to introduce emulator hindering features after 1.2.x updates. 1.1.x versions run the best. 1.4.x is the Switch 2 compatibility patch which runs the worst.
Not sure how these are relating to this recomp.

So far there's very little input lag compared to Yuzu and the intro is 60 fps (but that's not a demanding area at all, one of the more demanding areas is the village when you finish up the tutorial area in the sky).

dawn has support for a bunch of gacha games and the developer is the one that fixes a lot of video issues in wine-cachyos
mu has patches for better audio quality and performance in dsound games, updated multimedia libs, and maplestory support
both are based on proton-cachyos

I tend to use mu when it has newer dxvk/d7vk/vkd3d-proton fixes I want but proton-cachyos hasn't updated yet. Although I also manually update them if I really need it.

Intersting, I wonder if it fixes music not working or looping in old dsound games. It's a very common problem.

https://github.com/MuPendulum/proton-mu/commit/50091b4b6375b00a0080e0a9fd251b0671b6256f
The patches are just for audio resampling which was notoriously bad for dsound. gstreamer, ffmpeg and such updates aren't very likely to fix that either.

*Space Station 13? What?
https://youtu.be/nLAHBexJxrE?si=oqg9844njQrUi5Sv&t=265
You can watch video, chunk of it is irrelevant or doesn't apply, but 4:25 mark will give you the nice gameplay overview.
Space Station 13 is a multiplayer round based video game, where you work on Space Station, with some job hazards. Your job may vary from cooking food, mining asteroid, or performing neurosurgery. But you ought to do your work. Do the work, and hope to survive until the rounds end. There will likely be someone who will want to stop you from jobbying though. Be it a syndicate traitor, a wizard, or a vampire. You never know. Each round is a different story.

*Linux?
The game never had proper Linux support. Yeah people played it with Lutris and Wines and whatnot, but it's finicky and unreliably and prone to breaking with codebase updates. To the point that many people opted to use VM to just run it on windows.
Enter Vibes.
We basically coded native Linux client to cut all the bullshit. It's still in development, there's still some bugs here and there, but it allows you to play just fine. With a caveat.
Caveat being that it's coded to work out of the box only on /vg/station13. It's a sever based game, and none of play anywhere else, so we wouldn't know what's bugged what's not plus there would be some rendering issues due to different fuckery employed by different codebases.
And the codebases are very different. /vg/station13 is for all intents and purposes the only OG one left, that looks and feels and plays the same as it did 15 years ago. Of course with tons of polish improvement and content added.

*But where is it?
Shit.
https://github.com/toomykins/fugue
There it is. But because it uses the same netcode and architecture as byond (the original) so it's remains interoperable, you will need to create account at https://secure.byond.com/Join , to play.

Is so fucking hilarious that AI decomps has full Linux support with HiDPI (rendering and UI scaling are separated), HDR and shit while AAA devs crying that they don't have resources for native Linux build (they're making $400m game).
>>
>>586517260
To be fair, FOSS will always be better with providing Linux support in general, not just in the "you can fork it" kind of way but in actual releases, because the developers can poop something out with no guarantees and then let the bug reports roll in. Companies making games on the "infinite growth forever is possible if you believe in yourself" business model need to make sure they're not handing out refunds for compatibility issues, so they test on Windows [Current Version] and say "use Windows or fuck off".
This makes it even funnier when the stuff they make for Windows is half-broken on release day and needs patches.
>>
>>586517260
It's because any feature they add will need to go through the whole pipeline of approval and testing too. It's expensive. Of course games are shit in 2026 but still.
Some guy can shit out a build and it's there.

no, just discard them, there's only one door that's permalocked until you beat the game once and it contains alternate outfits
>>
>>586534059
We do have a port fork. We had few test sessions. But ultimately /vg/ is an oldfag server for oldfags so nobody cared for it. Yeah the code is slick and performance is nice, but it would all have to be rebuilt because the people wanted traditional tile movement (we had implementation of it but it was janky) and proper intent modes (it follows the TG style of UI), and in general UI felt alien and therefore shit. So the idea got shelved.
And we are strapped for players, especially in euro hours, so here's hoping a proper ss13 linux client will bring in a few. Three at least.

Kind of annoyed that I still have to waste ammo on a plant even after doing this optional puzzle to poison it. That book I found says the V-Jolt should KILL the plant within 5 seconds. I read that the bazooka's flame rounds are best, but I couldn't figure out how to load them without using the 6 explosive rounds that were already in there. So I tried the explosive rounds but I think some of them missed. I assume I have to angle the shots upward, but I only saw some of them hit. I killed it with the first flame round after all 6 explosive rounds were used (and probably half wasted). I didn't save so I'll do it again later.
Before that, I think I counted 13 shotgun shells to kill it (after V-Jolt). Seemed like too much, which is why I wanted to try the big ammo I wasn't using on anything else.

I blacklisted hid_nintendo and it does work with hid-generic. But it can take a few attempts due to still failing the same way?
I did also get a single connect with hid_nintendo loaded while double checking, but then it just kept failing. So probably a stick firmware issue, since hid-generic and hid_nintendo both do it.

It seems like switch 2 is basically the same as switch 1 technically? people are making eden (switch emulator) run switch 2 games with some minor changes. Cant wait to play ocarina of time remake. Im not buying a switch 2 for $600 just to play one game.

wasn't someone porting DX to modern UE which would've made it run on Linux?
>>
Updated Epic Games Launcher. Shit still fails to run Borderlands 3. Most likely because these retards run Proton outside Steam Runtime. I've reported it with their feedback button, dunno if Timmy would read it.

First time I hear about it
There's source port of UE1 though

What a dependable clown.
I guess the whole scene exists just so that I can get fucked out of a good ending like >>584930708 told me, but he came back pretty quick. I did stand around for a few seconds before I tried exploring, but it seems like I barely would have had time to leave before he came back if I tried.

Okay I wasn't sure but now I know it's a good game.

Holy fuck, how awesome.

Based.
There is a hint for translating all four runes to Latin letters, but that translation appears to be consistent with the table on Wikipedia's "Runes" article so the hint technically isn't needed.

lol.
It seems there are two relevant passwords, and I typed the wrong one first because I didn't read carefully enough, but I'm glad I got to see this animation.
Also I died without saving shortly after this so I have to repeat a bunch of shit. Oops.

You should be able to solve this.

The solution is in the room where you can turn on uv light.

It's kinda bullshit how I can't just type the password with my actual keyboard though.
Also the keyboard overlay isn't even the same layout as what's clearly shown in the background.

What a twist !!

Kino

Maybe he wasn't done cooking but that seems like a pretty serious design flaw.

Died on the first attempt at this fight, because I didn't run far enough before trying to shoot, and got stun-locked to death.
I really wish the developers had put a save room RIGHT before this, because watching those scenes again was pretty annoying. (The FMVs are skippable but I'm pretty sure the real-time cutscenes are not.) But I've played games with far worse unskippable-cutscene-and-then-boss sequences.
>>
What a twist !!
I actually like this shot better than the one I took the first time around. Jill is so cute when she's mad.
>>
So anyway, I saved Chris, of course.
>>
The gang's all here, except for Rebecca who apparently doesn't show up at any point in Jill's story even though the internet says she canonically survives the incident.
>>
I'm sad that I wasn't recording and also didn't time the screenshots very well. This scene was funny. I like how the rocket hits him right in the dick and he's just a few charred limbs afterwards.
>>
Well, that's it. I assume this is Jill's best ending. Is it worth replaying just to see the worse ones? I should already replay as Chris at some point. Or maybe I'll do another Jill run with ink ribbons first. Someone in an earlier thread said that only her first run has infinite saves (which I probably abused).
>>
>does nothing but sit in a jail cell
>gets the girl anyway
lol. Barry must be absolutely seething, after all he did — killed the first zombie, saved her from becoming a Jill sandwich...
>>
The credits were pretty rad, but why is Barry attacking Plant 42 with a flamethrower? Looks like Chris can get one, but I thought Barry doesn't show up in that story, let alone kill bosses for Chris.
>>
>>586685391
he'll do it in Jill's scenario. it's worth a playthrough to see all the differences but it's not worth replaying the game to get the worse endings since it just changes the FMV you get at the end.
>>
early game surface building always a pain in the ass but I like how my little mill came out
>>
>win the game
>get a JPEG of a girl
Huh? I can't wank to this.
Anyway, this play-through took a long time (far longer than shown here) because I played very methodically, and even loaded my save sometimes to see if I could do fights better even when I didn't die or otherwise fuck up horribly. I ended the game with lots of healing items and ammo in the item box, so that was clearly unnecessary.
I think my save count exceeded the total ink ribbons I'll be able to find in my next run. But I appreciated being able to save as often as I like before knowing the route.
>>586685559
>he'll do it in Jill's scenario.
Oh, seriously? Is that triggered just by not doing the V-Jolt, or by some obscure sequence of other decisions?
>>
Yes, I definitely will be sure to find 「CLOSET」.
>>
>be a nikke player
>everyone get hacked
>my proton prefix is sandboxed with flatpak

>>
>>586685927
i think he'll do half the boss fight for you if you don't mix the v-jolt but yeah, it has to do with that.
>>
Wow, I get an infinite-ammo weapon just for beating the game without ink ribbons?
I guess I can just not use it, if I want my second Jill run to be practice for a Chris run. For now, though, before I start a proper second run, I will be using this to breeze past whatever is required to find 「CLOSET」. I think it's locked behind an armor key door. I forget where the fuck the armor key is, lol
>>
Actually, didn't use the SMG to get here. Just proceeded with no regard for preserving pistol ammo.
Then used the SMG on this fuck because it was funny.
>>
Looks like Jill has only two alternate costumes. Just civilian clothes, one less slutty than the other. Meh. She's hotter in uniform.
