While I have played most Sonic games to completion, I never liked or cared for any of the special stages. I've always felt that they were poorly implemented and just overall bad. Blue Sphere special stagers were the worse implementation because the game would just plop you into a completely different environment with different controls and not explain anything. I know nowadays it's no problem because you can just look up wikis online but back when I was 7 beating the game for the first time it was infuriating and made me feel dumb when I figured out how to beat it.
