The expedition/relic grinding system is the only one where 4U has possible merit over GU for modding, otherwise there's no other reason to not just mod the hell out of GU. The only other monster hunter game that has a real case for modding is 3U thanks to underwater.

You don't even have to be near the grubs though you just point vaguely near them with focus mode and click the grapple button and it'll give you the bug for free. Sprinting faster outside of combat is good, as is as sprinting consuming zero stamina outside of combat.
There is no reason why the gathering animations should be so fucking slow.
There is also no reason why you have to repeatedly mash a button at a mining node or an insect gathering node or any of these gathering nodes to get every single gathering item there. One button press is enough.
The combined item popup is just smart design.
Customization options for notifications is also good. There is literally no reasonable argument against this.
Or for any of these other things, for that matter.

I'm so glad modding is popping off for pre-World MH games.
Hopefully we'll eventually get full raw mouse input so that these games can be 100 percent fully playable with MKB.

Lazy answer is that it's new. But many don't like it because the "difficulty" is non-existent until the very end of the game which is mostly 10* OHKOs. The End game mainly consists of RNG Gogmartian weapons where you have to use tedious to come by resources for Stat rolls or certain skills. While I personally don't mind it, others dislike Focus mode, a new mechanic that helps in having the player attack specific spots on a monster, which is also followed by the wound mechanic that people dislike.
Performance was/is a big complaint. For a game released in 2025, it had poor textures even at high settings and had severe difficulty running at even 60 fps in certain locations. While Capcom said they fixed it, (in my case, I see blurry textures and blobs in the rocks and such, I've not had many severe drops on my 3070 ti or I7). It launched well as people were expecting it to be World2+Iceborne from the gate and it ended up being a mess unless you had top of line computer specs, (even then, some anons said they couldn't run the game).
I don't think Wilds is a bad game or even a bad Monster Hunter game. I just agree with the statement that Investors ruined it from the start because they saw how much money and how well World did. Hope that answers your question, Anon.

This was part of it, yes, but at the same time, I fail to see how adding like 1 or even 2 extra years of development unfettered by a desire to please investors would have fixed problems that had nothing to do with rushed development, such as the absolute ugliness of the maps (this is an art direction problem, not a rushed development problem), or the shittiness of the exploration (this is a shitty directing problem, not a rushed development problem).
I don't think an extra 1-2 years would have even helped that much with optimization either. People here and elsewhere already identified the problems even before launch when they datamined the Steam demo and saw that each model had an insane number of vertex/polygon counts that significantly tanked performance. The optimization was just fucked right from the get go. The only thing that could have fixed the optimization was starting everything from scratch.

There is literally no difference between mining everything from an ore spot in one animation vs having to do it 3-5 separate times when pickaxe durability is still implemented other than some gay argument like "immersion" or some shit. The same with gathering from item piles or bugnets.

Free stamina out of combat and general faster out of combat movement is also better, unless you're some tranny speedrunner who would have to redo their "record" times so you can run slightly faster from base camp to the monster. He even kept normal movement for egg quests and in-combat (where movement speed actually matter). And better item popup UI is literally just an all visual thing.

This modder should actually keep doing shit like this instead of what the other faggots are trying to do like adding walking while potion drinking in combat or porting over their favorite parry moveset from Rise.
