>One year: $30, Three years: $60WHY THE FUCK?
knew i should have got 3 years at my last renewal
>>132160They want to know all of our post history for 3 years. I will not submit.
>>132163That's why you don't use your pass whe->>132161...This I can't argue with.
>>132161>>132163if they wanted to they already would without passu
It's not that bad. The new price is $2.5 per month, or $1.6 per month if you buy the 3 year plan. Compare that to anything else you pay a monthly fee for. I'm paying $50 a month just on vtuber YouTube memberships.
Fuck. I have subbed for less than a year, but the email I have associated is with Cock.li and that shit is down so I can't check exactly when it's expiring.I _have_ to buy a pass cause hiro thinks I am using a VPN (when I'm not) and I can't post otherwise.
Why the hell are they bothering with this? I mean, I'd think it would be alongside a news post of some sort. The prices haven't changed since their inception during Moot's era as I recall . I'm glad my pass runs out on the 20th and I'll grab a couple years at the old price. Also while I'm thinking of it, did they change the way you pay with crypto? it used to be your didn't have to fuck around with accounts or whatever it just plopped out an address you sent shit to from whatever compatible wallet you owned. Now there's all the shit about coinbase accounts and metamask and other shit. Fuck. Also if they're going to accept crypto of all places you'd think they'd accept Monero as its one of the few cryptos that is in line with the oldfag ethos of the board on privacy, anonymity etc. Lastly, if they're going to change the price in Feb how about some new features to justify it? The anon here talked about bans and post histories and shit, perhaps the Pass should have some sort of encryption so that 4chan will know your pass is valid, but anyone with access won't be able to track your posting more easily than just by IP etc. Some encryption/hashing could add a level of plausible deniability for the admins while also protecting users etc.
I just wish I could buy a 3-year pass right now to avoid the price increase, but I bought a 1-year pass only a couple of months ago.
>>132196I don't see why you couldn't - I just renewed for 3 years in October - what's to stop someone from stockpiling them?
>they've caught up with inflationoh no...
If it makes you feel better, they were 1.5 bitcoin in 2012
>>132199
Oh, nice. I have been trying to quit posting for some time. This is definitely going to help (and I am not being ironic).
>>132159I know of furry commissions that are cheaper then the pass
>>132199i literally want to die
I'm ok with it. I met my boyfriend on /soc/ and we're doing amazing. Chan deserves the bucks
>>132254That boyfriend? Me.
4CHAN PASSES INCREASING IN PRICE>4CHAN PASSES INCREASING IN PRICETHIS IS NOT A DRILL, THIS IS BS! SUCH REASONABLE PRICES BEING INFLATED
Between moderation getting shittier site-wide and the price increasing I don't think I'll be renewing.
>>132192>Pass user since 2012impressive
I'll pay the $60 for three years because I'm not poor.
>>132195>Also while I'm thinking of it, did they change the way you pay with crypto?yeah I remember having to switch to this coinbase shit for the first time last year. it's a pain
whats bullshit is that they wont even let us stack up years right now.
>>132264bruh i made that pic
I'll grab the 3 year
>>132291Just buy another pass
3 x $20 = $601 = $20>nothing changes>I will have to go through the nonsense process of buying BTC and paying for their fees once every three yearsPerfection.
>>132159not bad
Trump please lower the price of the 4channel pass my family is going to starve
>>132352best I can do is sell it to Vivek
>>132197pretty sure you can't buy a pass if you're already subscribed with one. i'm also stuck with one year since i renewed before they announced the three year deal. slightly pissed me off ngl.
>>132289This is particularly grating. Especially considering that when updating you have two choices >Credit Card>Digital Currencies And if you choose "credit card", the "link/stripe" checkout STILL has an option for crypto as well (next to CC and CashApp). Of course, what crypto and methods it allows varies too, and I found that even with WalletConnect I still couldn't just pay with DOGE or whatever, buy instead needed to shift it to something else like Polygon, which of course when I looked at one of the FOSS (Edge) wallet's exchange options it had a minimum of like 300 Doge which is over $100. I don't even want to get started on shit based on Etherium or its chain which requires asinine amounts of "gas" in ETH that makes it completely non viable for exchanging just enough to pay for a $45 pass etc. Now the issue with Coinbase, atop the >Take a picture with your face holding your IDgarbage has a lot of other limitations as well, as far as what wallets theyll let you use among other issues. The whole thing is a shitshow compared to how it used to be where you could previously just pick a ton of crypto options, it would splat up a QR of a wallet address to pay into, and that would be it. Crypto itself has become a lot more of a fucking cesspool of graft, transaction fees and garbage more than it ever was, but its sad that even with the supposed maturity of the platform that its harder to make purchases now than ever, especially "small" ones (ie under $100, which isn't really that small ) without jumping through hoops or paying transactions, minimums and other fucking around, is annoying. Its even more annoying that one of the least shitty crypto that is actually good for using it as a currency, Monero, is not supported by the site. If anything, you'd think it would go in line with (hiro)Moot's original concept on anonymity and privacy, that it would be a preferred usage to directly purchase a Pass with Monero. Out of room, TBC
>>132387So with all this in mind (ideally fixing the crypto payment option plus supporting Monero), plus the price increase, it would be nice to add some new features and options for Pass users>change related email address If you want to keep the pass but change the address to which its bound, can you do that currently? I didn't see an option to do so but it would be nice. Yes, I know you can just buy a new one but almost everything lets you change your address. The Pass token parameters (that you login with) aren't already there. Also, this brings me to >Privacy and anonymity features Especially for paying users supporting the site, increasing privacy and anonymity is not only on brand, it encourages additional Pass subscriptions. Changing your email address should be an option and the site should purge records of previous addresses after a short period of time. Other privacy/anonymity options that could be implemented for pass users could seek to minimize the tracking capability for other metrics related to the Pass (assuming it isn't already) such as IP history, email, etc..by purging what is not needed in as short a time as possible. There are avenues to have near zero knowledge while maintaining Pass functionality. These elements of course, in concert with other current and potential expanded Pass benefits would make users more likely to subscribe.

are passes safe after the hack?
>>136486bump
>>136486Yes. The whole reason credit card info wasn't leaked was because it would make it a large enough real crime for authorities to investigate. Shitposters with too much time and autism on their hands aren't interested in battling the feds.
