Within a very short amount of time you can get enough food and armor to explore most of the map, which is mostly what I did with my first couple hours. From there what you do will be largely determined by how you like to play these sorts of games. I found it to be a charming little world and I've been playing at least a little bit almost every day since seeing this thread and deciding to check it out.
