Fair warning for modders: Steam Workshop is being bombarded by troll DMCA claims.
>>1903473I always make backups. I also have nothing to do at the moment if anyone's around and wants to play something.
>>1903277You should see the original 1997 components, all stored in a VHS box, sovl.Indeed it was pretty interesting, though the other players didn't agree. You want to connect servers and computers together using your own cables, and each tile has a secret number between 2 and 4 that dictates how many actions you get to perform, you don't know which number is down there since it's forbidden to check until you already decided to place it though, and sometimes you want to do less or more actions, but must do all actions it tells you to (place cables, take tiles, or get more cables). At first it didn't feel like anything special, it is enjoyable to place the tiles and make connections but it felt like there wasn't much rhyme or reason to it aside from taking the big scoring tiles and connecting them. That was until we ran out of servers and/or computers to connect to; then it clicked. So the game ends if only one player has tiles left ala Bus, or one of the market piles run out of tiles, and if you don't have tiles to play you are basically out of the game, BUT, each tile you hold is worth -1 point at the end and you can only place a single one a turn, but having tiles give you actions and scoring possibilities, so it's a cool balance you must maintain, especially since if you already took all your 18 cables and can't really place new ones to "stall", you must keep taking tiles. So it's all about knowing when to quit or end the game yourself while you balance tile grabbing and scoring opportunities. It's not ultra deep and complex but it's a cool filler that requires you to use your nogging in good Splotter fashion. I reckon the new art design makes it a bit more attractive to people as well.

Western Leggy any1?
>>1924027"Best at" is just "BGG vibes" who don't take into account the balance at all because "idk bro I played it with my friends while drinking and smoking and we had a good time, this 2-player card game totally works at 5 players", at least player count is publisher recommended.
>>1924302>at least player count is publisher recommendedCareful with that. More often than not, publishers increase/decrease the "playable" player counts just so they can reach a bigger market share. Hansa Teutonica used to be sold as a *2* to 5 player game.
>>1924387And the good folks at Lookout Games would have you believe that Caverna can be played at 7.
>>1924302???literally never seen a "best at" that's outside of the player count that the game itself allows, it's almost always a smaller range than what it saysjust to give a couple examples using games that get hosted here, I do not recommend GWT at more than 3 players (though to be honest i also don't recommend the expa as it makes the game way too loose and adds unnecessary bloat), same for Grand Austria Hotel, same for Ark Nova, or FCM with more than 4. I always look at the number of players we currently have before deciding on what to play, and it's rarely the max number
>>1924665>Grand Austria HotelAccording to BGG and that anon above, this should only be played with 2 people.
>>1924675I dont think I ever mentioned BGG thoughFor me GAH is best at 2 or 3, if you have to use data from BGG then i guess you could use "recommended" instead of "best at", either of them is still better than just using max anyways, GAH at 4 is a waste of time

>>1924693>>1924694>>1924696Gotcha. I'm partial to card games, so I was pretty hyped to see someone hosted Myths and Legends at some point, but I'm also fine with learning about some unusual (for me) board games like the Bloodborne one or whatever LobCorp's one will be. I was expecting this thread to have one of those relay dynamics of playing a new game every week or something like that in the OP, but if there's nothing like that, I'm just gonna lurk and wait until someone hosts something to join in.
>>1924705>Myths and LegendsWeón>>1924705>I was expecting this thread to have one of those relay dynamics of playing a new game every week or something like that in the OPIt's much simpler than that, one person will host a game they want to play, people join, get taught if they don't know it, then play. Some hosts like to host several new games every time, some others prefer to play just a couple games a lot before moving on, and others will find their niche game and host basically only it. No real etiquette or anything aside from being a cool dude.
>>1924715The artwork of those cards was the real pull for me. The fact there was a game attached to them was a nice bonus. They were also dirt cheap, so it was a win in every front.Anyway, I hope I can catch a game of anything at some point, or I might host one myself if not. It's cool to see a place like this still existing in here, even if I had to thoroughly search for it in every board.

If they don't have one, they must buy one. If they can't afford one, the President uses his pocket change to help the company buy one, selling shares to fundraise if needed. You can run out of shares and go bankrupt and get eliminated from the game, so try to plan on not doing that.>>a Merger Round only happens in the midgame, after the first 3-Train is bought. Here, the president(s) of two companies might agree to merge them into a Corporation, that inherits the unique abilities, stock locations, trains and treasury, and home hubs, from the merged companies. The Corporation also gains two extra Hub Tokens that they can place in the operating rounds.you go for 4 Cycles in a short game, and 6 in the long game, and whoever has the most money (total of cash and held stock value) wins. It's a simple game, really, but reading the rules will open you up to the nuances of the system and give you a few ideas on how to best exploit those nuances.

>>1941047Doesn't Campaign for North Africa stimulate some supply lines by train?
>>1941057no, the rulebook clearly states (twice) that the train line in CNA is a decorative historical piece, as even though it was used in the war, it's effect on the North African Front depicted in the game is minimal, and most of it is not on the map anyway. and even then it won't be train autism, it would be everything autism, because it's fucking Campaign for North Africa, it's designed to take forever and be as obtuse as possible.speaking of, anybody interested in the new game "Campaign for the Solar System: The Space war 2178-9999"? i havent played it yet but the rules for orbital maneuvers look pretty good

>>1955925Based Dokapon enjoyer, I was obsessed with that game when I was young, never got to finish the campaign with my friends though, had to do it on my own vs bots lol
>>1956097I played through Dokapon Journey's campaign at least twice with my family. Never got to try Dokapon Kingdom though. How is it?
>>1956117It's the classic Dokapon bullshit in 3D I guess, can really make you mad how hard the game wants you to suffer but that keeps everybody around the same level. the Defense stat is completely useless though and the game doesn't explain you about most things, but I like that because it makes you explore and try things yourself.
>>1956117Kingdom is a simplified version. Still very fun.
Do I really need a script just to draw from the bottom of the deck... Yes I know I can just pick the deck up and alt right click drop it, but still.
>>1956772>yes i know i can <very simple thing that replaces using a script>so no, you dont really need to use a script
>>1956780What would be even better than some awkward roundabout way of picking up the entire deck and dropping a card would be a simple hotkey to just draw from the bottom thoughbeit. Too bad that Unreal TTS clone is stillborn, TTS is old and busted but it's never going to be replaced anytime soon.

>>1962479>knowing how to playGay
>>1962479That's the neat part: you don't!
>>1962479After you some game mechanics learning new games is much easier because you can extrapolate the knowledge. To remember rules of a game you haven't played in a while the theme helps to rationalize the ideas so a short summary will put you back to sleep. Or autism, that could be it too.
>>1962479>400Try 10, the main host favoritesThe list is useless and 90% of games there some anon loaded the game once in a lobby and posted on the thread (did not even play it).
>>1962479You only need to know a few rules to play most games, it's like videogames, every FPS is similar enough with one or two differences, every platformer is similar enough with one or two differences, same here, most games play in turns, most games bundle a bunch of turns into a round, most games let you do a limited number of things per turn, and so on. Sometimes there's a simultaneous play component, sometimes there's an auction, sometimes you can share spaces other times you can't, sometimes you can use other players' stuff other times you can't, and so on.But as the other anon said, you usually learn a few games you like and know how to teach them to others so they can play it with you.
>>1962780>most games let you do a limited number of things per turn,Oh god, you're reminding me. When I taught my family Hansa Teutonica half of them got filtered by the fact that players do unequal amounts of actions on their turns.

>>1963314>the list is useless but funWhats so fun about listing random games that appear in the thread?>show that anyone can come and host a game they knowDisagree, the list actually misrepresents the actual culture and the games played here. Some MTG fag isn't going to find his public here and MTG is listed, along with other TCGs.
