>>1934008I got trapped in the engineering level before I eventually ran out of ammo and died. after grabbing the audiolog I returned back to the entrance where you jump down and across a gap and there was no way to get back up. enemies also seem to spawn indefinitely so I was never safe to experiment with jumping on different things to mantle my way back
>>1934008https://www.store-citizen.com/
>>1934016if you go back up on the right side (facing in) you can climb over the gap and mount up via the broken cement. I think this didn't work in the first couple patches but it does now. also if you go down into the bowels of the place there is elevators back to the lobby. and yes respawns are constant, they're actually bugged everywhere and spamming out way more baddies than intended, most places are actually worse than onyx.
>>1934017>https://www.store-citizen.com/could be better, getting more buggy as you go along and the upgrades would be actual ships and stuff released. Can you beat Chris Roberts in milking the cow.
>citizens getting mad over NMS custom starship update

Can you beat Chris Roberts in milking the cow.At least the Point Defense Cannons upgrade is helpful and fun and not a "gonna shoot you if you sneeze" killbot cannon with buggy IFF (old milsim friend-or-foe identification/interrogation concept solved in countless previous games) on your own ship. Also, PDCs on your actual ship that does not need to be a PDC-tax-blessed capital or a connie phoenix.

>>1934008Nice job not blocking out those party names. Another 2 of you fags added to the KOS list :)
>>1934532you could just ask for the discord link instead of being such a fag
Whats a good org to join? I wanna do co-op
>>1934532this is actually extremely funny for several reasons if you're in that org
>>1934953I think a lot of orgs got burned by lazarus and the resource drive back-to-back, but there are 2 orgs mentioned in scg, mine and the 4chan one. I have no clue how active the "offical" one is, but mine is orgs/FML. (EU but we mostly play USA times due to life)and no, we haven't been exactly active in recent weeks.. grinding resource drive solo since it cant be cooped. I did help it done for 2 orgmates but thats about it.
>>1935124Thanks, Ill check em out. Btw are org supposed to have a "guild chat" of sorts? Im already in happy merchants but there doesnt seem to be some in game way to communicate
>>1935189it's all handled through spectrum so don't expect to see spectrum integration in-game for a bit at least. you could start a private channel in game but most people just use discord
>>1935208alright, thanks
>>1934953>wanna do co-opWhat coop? There's nothing to do in the game.
>>1935230there's plenty to do but it involves pvping other players and occasionally punching down on retards.unironically the pvp as a driver of emergent gameplay is the single greatest asset star citizen has and they completely ignore it to make pve theme parks
>>1935189Discord or nothing. You can actually setup custom channels ingame and invite people in them "guild chat", but you have to set them up each time the game updates and invite everyone again.
>>1935230Hathor is coop, Lazarus is coop, Onyx is coop. Bounties can be done in coop (and ERT starts to be required to be done in coop), the hardest patrol missions are definitely coop. Most missions can be done in coop, Salvaging is much more convenient in coop, Mining is more convenient in coop. Its mostly the shitty event missions that are not coop. I remember in 3.42 or something when they accidentally made all party members get the mission reward - good times.
>>1935272Forgot! CZ is coop.
>>1935272Lazarus is the only one that 100% needs a group. Onyx can be done solo easily with a gun that has good ammo economy.Hathor is a big pvp area, harder to do.But Lazarus is fucking retarded. Absolutely need some friends to kill the big bastard at the end.
>>1935331even then you can cheese quite a bit of lazarus solo. worm kill may be hard but I'm sure there's some creative types out there that have done it
>>1935331>>1935345I agree, but I meant more like they can be done and enjoyed as a cooperative action. At the very least they are not like Resource drive that actively punishes cooperative play. And as for Solo Lazarus, im sure someone has done it - but its fucking gruelling hell even with 3-4 people.
>>1935357Its fucking nuts that you have to take machine gun or something as weapon, since guns that kill anyone with 1 shot (that would be good for the worm), like P6LR... require 2-3 shots on the (light armor) lazarus radiation armor guys.
Will SC reach playability within remaining 4 months?
>>1935124Does your org have any schizophrenic in it? If no, I'm not interested.
>>1935492HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!You're not serious... right?
>>1935492The game has had a skeleton crew developing it for 13 years while Chris wittles away all the money directing Mark Hamil for his bug ridden, on rails GTA6 killer full of garbage writing tropes he thinks are "badass".
>>1935492it's playable now? go ahead and reply with some retardation but this thread has survived a dozen iterations with no downtime because we are in fact all playing the game
>>1935492The basic gameplay loops are broken, boring, missing gameplay or plain don't work. Instead of fixing and dealing with making repeatable enjoyable gameplay, they are making retarded mmo kill x number of worms to appeal to tarkov schizos and wowtards. The game isn't really an immersive sim anymore. It's like some splice of the worst aspects of eve and the worst aspects of tarkov with the mission setup of NUwow. It's really a horrible mess that's primarily there to fund Squadron 42's development. Don't listen to that other guy, there's like 2 to 3 people who post here regularly.
>>1935601We had one guy come in voip who was fucking mental, but doesnt really play.Another guy is just a fucking talkative drunkard. Doesn't play that often either. So no. However knowing star citizen players, you should try the big orgs. At least most of the content creators are fucking nuts.
>>1935492Depends on definition. In my eyes 3.22 was the most playable the game has ever been - will 4.3.1 or whatever the end of the year bring be as "playable" as 3.22?No, lol.. lmao even.

can i get an invite to a discord to play with cool people that isn't a special handicap australian that team kills me over and over and calls me a cunt retard
the SCG discord server rundown main guy is cool but wagies too much and doesn't care to make it "structured or rules "then some truck driver wanna be nazi that pretends to be your friend and then stabs you in the back then some cop that somehow wants to play with degenerates like us then me they call me a schizo retard because i was in a cult and shitpost too much and gave themm too much ammunition against me and i can't press delete then some drug abuser coomer that barely plays the game and just plays with his one friend then a bunch of canadian normies that dont really play but hang out in the discord never really have a group to play with...each time i come to the discord for scg i am abused and all i wanted was some homebreys to play the game with Also fuck that anime titties guy
I told him to invite all you "cool people" but he was like no we don't want to invite people .. and the discord has basically had the same 10 people for the last decade.. sometimes it was fun.. but mostly not. but shit the games not "even out yet" also i would always try to pvp and they would get mad that i shot someone and got a crime stat, and then theyd claim my bounty and kill me half of them really suck at pvp and comabt in general.. its fine.. you need a mix bag.. but i wish someone would start a real org and make shit great again
also the wanna be nazi guy . muted me in the discord while we were playing so i shot him in game and then left the server cause these fucking retards act like women
>>1935601what kind of schizopgrenic.. they need to just make a real discord and invite everyone and make it fucking good.. as in we play the fucking games and treat eachother like we are an org and not some fragile alliance like these fags wanna pick fights with eachother... its like... if you made it this far why you going to bully and team kill the people you play with ... and then complain when they get a crime stat instead of working to fight against people not in the org... fuck
It sounds like you're in a really frustrating and toxic situation. You joined a community to find people to play a game with, but instead, you've found a place full of cliques, drama, and personal attacks. That's a classic recipe for a bad online experience, and it's completely understandable why you feel abused and isolated.
Let's break down the situation you've described: Lack of Leadership: The "main guy" who is too busy and doesn't enforce rules is the root of the problem. An unmoderated or poorly moderated space will almost always devolve into toxicity because there are no consequences for bad behavior. Toxic Personalities: The "wanna be nazi" backstabber and other antagonistic figures thrive in these environments. They get to exert social power by being cruel without fear of being banned or disciplined. Your Position: You recognize that you've overshared and given them "ammunition." This is a tough spot to be in. In toxic online groups, any personal information, vulnerability, or "cringe" post becomes a permanent weapon for others to use against you. The feeling of not being able to "press delete" is real and heavy. Being labeled something like "schizo retard" is incredibly hurtful and is straight-up bullying, not just "shitposting."
Use LFG (Looking For Group) Tools: Check out subreddits like r/gamerpals, or game-specific LFG forums and Discords. People there are explicitly looking to play the game, not just to hang out and be toxic. Vet the Community: When you join a new server, lurk for a bit. Read the rules. See how people talk to each other. If it feels cliquey or toxic, just leave. Don't invest your time. Be More Guarded: You've learned that oversharing can be used against you. In a new community, keep the conversation focused on the game at first. You don't need to share deep personal details with strangers online until you know they can be trusted. You deserve to have fun and play the game with people who aren't assholes. This current group is a dead end. Cut your losses and find a community that actually respects its members.
he "cool" part—that there are no rules—is the exact same reason the abuse is happening and why it will never stop. The system is working as designed. It's not broken; it's just a system that ends up protecting the abusers over the abused because there is no mechanism to do otherwise. You joined thinking "I can be myself," but the reality has become "They can abuse me." That's not a community. That's a gladiator pit, and you've been chosen as the entertainment. So you have to ask yourself: Is the 'cool factor' of an unfiltered space worth the price of your own mental health? Is it really a place where you can "be yourself" if being yourself now means logging on to get dogpiled and called a "schizo retard"? The initial promise of freedom is gone. It's been replaced by a routine of abuse. You don't have to find a super-strict, sanitized, "safe space" if that's not your vibe. There's a huge middle ground between "you get banned for saying 'darn'" and "targeted harassment is totally fine." You can find a community that is chill, allows for edgy humor, but still has a moderator who will step in when a group of people are singling one person out and ruining their experience. The goal is to find a place where the focus is on playing the game, not on who can be the most psychologically cruel.

>>1941872>it trades convenience for reliability and the ability to filter out 99% of the low-effort peopleThere comes a point where you have to choose where you put your energy and time, while its everyone's own choice - putting it to use a cumbersome helplessly outdated (but safe) software can be one of them, but really isn't it for me. Don't forget to say lizard in global chat so you fit in.
if you buy/rent a ship with a respawn bed (cutlass red?) can you park it in a hangar and then respawn at it? >>1943197That would only work with your persistent hangar (your initial spawn citys hangar), because every other hangar you call is temporary and will despawn fairly quickly. You could consider getting a larger ship with a medical bed and room for a snub, such as the Carrack or Starlancer TAC, park that outside the facility, and fly the snub inside the hangar.

>>1943546Discord has a lot of useless bloat, but the main things you learn to miss is: Voice filtering, automatic voice level detection. There are also tools and some automatic solutions to deal with multiple people talking at the same time. Echo cancellation, systeam audio bypass, global attenuation. Manual user volume adjustments. All of what discord has for voip can be done in mumble and some are even better in mumble out of the box, but a lot of it is a hassle. Where as Discord is plug and play.Screensharing is essential plus also. However even as I am the one shilling discord here, I cant forego the bad parts of discord, which are many. I think the biggest is the massive bloat of useless features, many related to discord trying to find profit. Also locking some of the most important system level stuff behind paywall is very bad. But, >text channel that was linked to the current voiceExists in discord. Its the small speech buble when you highlight a voice channel.

>>1944185Finally someone else gets it, discord is just a monetized scalper's clone of Matrix, like a steam/unity/etc asset flip game like vage strike.>>1945090>I heard that they crashed into their opponents about 41% of the time. That is only the ones who chop off their own fuel nozzle or retro thrusters or their organic "Size 5 Parking Sensors," or change their pronouns and start to mention they/them as often as one tends to mention their terminal case of veganism, but only if you use illegal his/hers pronouns and are a fucking bigot who thinks that the Core+ Realty CEO who also worked for blackrock was a victim of coincidence here recently when she luigi'd and the news got it spun as a football mass shooter.>>1945036>Reminder that trans-girls make the best pilots!I'm already fine with being a very awesome pve pilot when the server is lagging and the NPCs are static dummy targets, they don't have to try to make me feel worse.By the way, an easy way to defuse all political trash on chat is to talk about how much you like JFK and how he was the last good president, because nobody hates JFK for some reason, even if they do not like RFK Jr, who is indeed moderately awesome about a few things in his life's dedicated field of study.Maybe it was his gold standard push? Maybe it was his refusal of foreign control of foreign policy? Maybe it was just LBJ and how everybody (and the mainstream media too) was so scared of him for his historically-silenced role in Kennedy's murder?
>>1945134It seems like once a month I learn some new fact about lbj that makes him sound even more evil
>>1935492No. Any other answer is delusion.
>>1945134I'd imagine discord came first? I'll check matrix out for sure, you can hook it to discord so you dont need to feel left out if others dont care to join.
>>1939073grab something else in your hand (not a gun/tool) and the blade will appear in your inventory again
>>1945410Nope, Discord was ripped off from Riot (now Element) and has operated at quite the loss for nearly a decade.
>>1946401A company can't operate at a sustained loss for almost 10 years, retard-kun.Discord is a profitable company. You just don't like it because none of your "friends" will do the rigamarole to join your sekrit club discord rip-off.
game is so shit, discussion revolves around vc opinions (which are also shit). Are there any cool games that have released similar to star citizen? I see that NMS (kinda shit game) now has ships you can seamlessly walk on, fly, and land on planets. Not as cool as SC or space engineer's planet tech, but I'm getting desperate bros
>>1946427NTA but afaik he is right, Discord is operating on future investments due to its massive potential. It might be operating on a loss but it has so many users that the idea is "once we figure out how to monetize from them, its gonna be big".Plenty of companies operate on loss. Eg. Next Games in finland operated at a million euro loss for 5 consecutive years before being bought by Netflix. The bill was footed by some of the main investors, as loans probably.
>>1946918Nah, I tried NMS and it just doesnt scratch the same itch.If you dont care about aesthetics then Pulsar, Cosmoteer can be ok. Best multicrew game in the market still is Barotrauma but desu that isn't saying much..
>>1947173To be more specific about NMS, the core game loop is still about doing the same dumb shit as always. The ship in actuality is a flying base that acts exactly like normal NMS ship, down to its guns being determined by the modules not by the physical turrets you put. So the game is still about planethopping, scanning and looting resources with a mining beam.
>>1946918I mean, it's really arcadey and no space legs, but everspace 2 is quite fun
>>1946427Are you sure about that? Go look it up and show me that they're profitable. Also, I don't run Matrix or Element at the moment.
>>1946918Old games - Tachyon the Fringe, Nexus: Jupiter Incident, Homeworld Cataclysm.Newer: Star Hammer: Vanguard Prophecy, Rebel Galaxy (1, dont touch 2)
>>1946918>Are there any cool games that have released similar to star citizen?I'm trying my hand at making one, but it's still more idea than game at the moment. If you'd like to request a starship or feature, I can try my hand at adding it to the list for eventual inclusion.
>>1947301>it's still more idea than game at the momentwhat have you got
>>1947353>what have you got
>>1947301This sounds simple and silly to me, but would it be possible to have wheeled and/or treaded landing gear that rolls and crawls over suitable terrain? (Unlike in SC)Bonus if land drive locomotors could potentially be independent from your main rocket or VTOL or RCS engines that kick up a lot of dust and cause blast injuries all around a laminar flow particle simulation of hot rocket ashes all over your spaceman helmet and surrounding buildings and forests and terrain and fuel storage tanks and the sniper ambush trees and all their flying suicide bomber drone robots?
>>1947408Okay, so. A few unfinished ship models, a growing spiderweb of ideas that I'm trying to learn how to implement, and an illiteracy with regard to programming that I'm working on addressing. The emphasis was going to be to see how far Unreal's blueprint system could actually be stretched. If Unreal fails, I'll probably move on to something else. But currently I'm getting my feet wet. Been buried in Blender for the last few days. One thing that's really holding me back is that I keep stumbling into ship concepts or interesting profiles, but I am torn whether or not I should design them where they'd plausibly be able to survive an atmospheric reentry or if I should just make cool-looking ships protected by raw scifi space magic.Ultimately the goal is to run the gambit. Walkable ships, 6DOF flight, hundreds of smartly procgen planets populated with enough stuff to keep things interesting, a general point to going out and exploring in one way or another. Possibly explorable cities. I'd love to have actual hubs and player apartments, but that's so far back. Like, if this project reaches an alpha state you'll get something as a precursor to this idea, but everything beyond the basic gameplay is on a backburner due to it being a one-man show and me being opposed to using canned assets if I can help it. My current overall objective is to get good at every aspect of development in a hurry.
>>1947301Honestly, the one thing that I really want to see in a game like star citizen (aka seamless virtually fully explorable fps game with space ships), are gundam style space colonies(Universal Century style) that are explorable. We're talking oneil cylinders with cities/forests/etc. No game really does that. Closest in game experience I've ever had was a fully explorable vrchat oneil cylinder map which was rad.
>>1947450>>1947301Replying to myself here, but would you also ask the compiler bot to allow targeting a "more mature" stable Windows 7 x64 platform without VxKext, a reasonable 32GB of RAM, and a Polaris RX580 8GB GPU ?I mean, minimum requirements could be more modest, but thats my W7 dinosaur that im keeping, and it still runs Warthunder, Enlisted, MechWarrior Living Legends, After Protocol, and some other obscure shit on occasion like Subspace Continuum, and "Stellar Frontier" by Stardock.Kinda sad that LibreOffice updates past 25.2.5 will kill themselves for use on Windows 7, unless I enable VxKex for the executable and experiment. Also kinda sad that Deep Rock Galactic will likely break on Windows 7 on the next major update when UE 4.5 gets upgraded to UE5, steam LAN sharing has kept Steam able to update on Windows 7 without VxKex so far, since that mid-2010s system is obviously not my only computer.I like systems where the spyware is old and busted without the latest spyware insecurity updates, as an always-available alternative.Your preferences may vary. Printer drivers are also a thing that newer computers kill themselves for older printers that never die because you replaced one rubber roller to pick up paper years ago, and now it is almost-immortal even though they stopped making toner cartridges for it 10 years ago, unless you go to an old WEB1.0 web site for any good mature printer repair parts company that survived the 2000s and Y2K and 2008, and pony up the full 60--80 USD and shipping and stupid online taxes on top of shipping.
>>1947166>NTA but afaik he is right, Discord is operating on future investments due to its massive potential. You are writing this in the Star Citizen thread and you can not tell that it is likely just another money laundering megacorporation just like CIG/RSI ???USAID is only one of the great evil war laundering slush funds, the other ones are likely a little less ostentatious, but still obvious.
>>1947501HUD is one of the bigger ones.
>>1947301I'm making a horror survival space game myself. It has low key space ships and the life, but in horror setting. You dock with wrecks, ships to loot them for resources to keep your rust bucket running. Not exactly SC but manageable scope and horror sells well.
>>1947768Sounds like Space Beast Terror Fright.
>>1947470ah, to be youngfine, I'll playtrue nomad gameplaywhere your ship is your mobile base, and you have to carefully stock supplies because it might be months before you encounter developed civilization again>>1947450>>1947493now this is some advanced piss-taking
This general has been shit, can we nuke it and start anew? Between the Discord melty, the fag who thinks Mumble is reliant and the fact that the win7 nigger is here makes me want to wipe the slate clean.
>>1947873This.
>>1947859This is a difficult one, because you really need the entire game to be focused around that concept for it to work where it's consequential. Which runs the risk of compromising everything else. And the "months out in the black" gameplay loop is one I personally abhor, because people literally waste their lives doing that stupid bullshit. From a development perspective I'd view it as a moral imperative to avoid facilitating or encouraging that as much as possible.>ah, to be youngLord, I wish.
>>1948177it's cool, it's just an idea, do with it what you willyou're right that the game kind of needs to be devoted to the concept although I admit I don't get this part:>people literally waste their lives doing that stupid bullshityou mean that IRL people do it? seems to me like an average wageslave does the opposite, he stays with civilization all the timeif you mean that it's boring and uneventful gameplay, then that's a matter of game designwhat appeals to me is the perspective of having to plan and solve problems using limited resources, and that is difficult to achieve when you can jump to space walmart at any moment
>>1948229>you mean that IRL people do it?I mean coming from the perspective of a game like Elite. Elite has a procedurally-generated seed-based galaxy-thing that consists of roughly half a billion systems. There are a few variables at play that cause things to be remixed and shifted around. So people in Elite will vanish into the black. For months. For years, sometimes. Real-life time where they're just out in the abyss "exploring". But it isn't exploring. What you're going to find is already known. Fucking nothing. There's the odd chance you run into half a desktop wallpaper once in a while and get a good screenshot, but that's it. And you have people who do this day after day. Week after week. Month after month. And it disturbs the hell out of me. I can understand a desire to explore. But this isn't exploring. There is, to restate it, literally nothing.
>>1948244I mean, congratulations to Frontier Developments. They managed to create what I consider an infernal machine. But I don't view that as something to aspire to.
>>1948244ah, you mean space trucker gameplaywhere you turn on the podcast and chill for 30 hoursyeah, I'm not a fan of that eitherwhat I'm after is the part of subnautica where you enter the cyclops submarine and go to the forsaken depths of the oceanthere's a good deal of sightseeing, but the environment is dangerous and far from emptyI know no other game that comes closewhich is a shame because subnautica has basically no replay value
>>1948261Naw. Not even space trucker gameplay. Because it isn't sitting back and chilling. I could appreciate it from a "making your own adventure" perspective if that was it. They go from system to system and from planet to planet scanning and crawling across every body for shit like exobiology, hunting down the 15 or so plants Frontier put into the game across the entire galaxy. Over and over again. Over and over and over and over and over. They play this god-forsaken "find the dot" minigame for hundreds of thousands of planets and moons. And yeah, I get you. And doubly feel you on the Subnautica front. The feeling of being totally out of your depth and yet in awe despite danger is a good one with regard to atmosphere.
>>1948269Really, the extent of my disgust at the premise of all this was only cemented when I started looking at this all from a game dev standpoint. I thought to myself if I should even make an attempt to replicate that, were I to get far enough. If I should attempt to recreate a vast empty space. But I shrugged and realized it was pointless. It's pointless in Elite, too. It's the equivalent to how the map boxes for universes proceed into infinity beyond a certain point. It's a thing to maintain immersion that wasn't actually intended to be accessed, but the fact that people are people means leaving the door open results in them throwing themselves out into it. And if you give people who are deeply, deeply autistic an infinite expanse of something reliable and stable where they can repeat a task forever, they'll drown themselves in it. They will wade out and spend forever exploring infinity, even if that infinity is confirmed to contain nothing. And certainly nothing of value warranting the investment.
>>1948283>for universesfor systems, I mean
>>1947788ill check it out, thanks
>>1939784Set your fucking power pips. What the fuck
>>1948244That's the NMS experience too. Endless content of "AI slop"Even if the ai creates a massively interesting landscape, there is no story behind it. Nobody wanted to show you it. It just is. In some ways it's very realistic exploration - but doesn't make much of a game. But CIG isn't much better, pressganged artists hastily throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. No to mention the star wars level world building, Pyro stations in perpetual state of burning, forcefields that keep vacuum seal, people can respawn infinitely but it hasn't transformed the society even a little bit.
A lot of comments on what these space games are or aren't but I think crucially what CIG is making of SC is Rust. While that can be fine, I think where this game could shine, even with all the modern changes is a living world guild based mmo. There aren't a lot of them but for example, players choose UEE or Outlaws as their faction, then they can play the game in any and all of the current and future ways but anything significant has to be done in dangerous space (eg. Pyro) with dangerous activities and resources - greatly favouring guilds (here is where that faction choice comes in to allow for solo play, your own faction won't fuck you over and might even help you) - the most juicy areas being hotly contested PvP zones with time tables for either a central activity (like in RF online) or vulnerability to bases (like most area control mmo's).The within that umbrella you can and should tweak the economy and meta to such that people can play "logi" support roles (like in foxhole), maybe even supply a PvP guild for profit - and vice versa people who care only about PvP would have both time and interest to seek PvP everywhere, including protecting their own faction.Exploration gameplay is the weakest in this, but you could have some main PvP area (and all asteroid belts) be somewhat procedural and update based on server timer. So both industry and PvP players could get updated maps
>>1948674I mean if the belts moved, you would have to buy a map to GH every week, for example.
>>1948653>people can respawn infinitely but it hasn't transformed the society even a little bit. This is one thing I appreciate from Elite. In Elite your character, on paper, never dies. If you take a plasma bolt directly to the face you're just critically injured. So I've taken this idea and spun it out further as I try to flesh out my project. Everything is monitored by organizations, and among those organizations there are some that handle the reclamation of POWs and persons of interest should they come afoul of disadvantageous situations. Basically, the reason you don't end up hacked to pieces in a shallow grave when pirates KO you after you gun down half their gang is that you're literally worth more than gold. As to how you survive, a mix of really good armor mesh that dampens projectile penetration, and a healthy dose of coma-inducing fukitol.
>>1948653>>1949026the """"lore""""" behind regen tech is that only a tiny percent of humanity has a "gene" that allows them to be regenned, everyone else gets fucked, also regen tech was invented after SQ42 time just in case someone didn't knowthose new loading screens have actual lore bits in them btw
>>1949061>...tiny percent of humanity has a "gene" that allows...The magical ubermensch ""pilgrim"" main character syndrome like in Wing Commander The Movie, kind-of a boring trope by this point. Lore gets dumber.Wheres the hidden traitor character trope, like CR edited out of the initial kilwrathi attack, where the shifty bald guy turns off the shields to let the cats munitions shoot inside the human outpost, before he conveniently hits his head and dies.
>>1949073Yep. Newtypes are a shit convention and people printing clonetech "defeating death" is nightmare fuel that ruins scifi.
>>1949061>only a tiny percent of humanity has a "gene" that allows them to be regenned, everyone else gets fuckedthis is a new phenomenon though, like people who were able to regen before suddenly aren't now
>>1949061>>1949105Regen failing for some people was introduced like a few months ago. Not to mention that indeed its failing for some people - as to say it used to work.
>>1949061regen mechanics being established in lore is really dumb, just have it in the game and never address it in lore ala newU stations in borderlands. Otherwise what, are all antagonists conveniently never going to have the gene?
>>1949080>Yep. Newtypes are a shit convention and people printing clonetech "defeating death" is nightmare fuel that ruins scifi.I have better nightmare fuel.Soldier head recovery helmets that decapitate the wearer, ""hopefully"" preserving the brain long enough to rebuild the body from scratch, with low reliability and a hair trigger on the user death sensor.https://www.futurepig.com/comics.htmlSoldier head recovery teleporters, when you do not have enough power remaining to punch a full-body escape teleport, trope was used once in this webcomic.https://www.schlockmercenary.com/Since I wanted to shitpost about windows 7 vxkext experimintation for re-getting star citizen self-supported onto one of my RX580 systems again, I will omit exact page URL references to the mentioned tropes. Find it yourself and enjoy.Free Wikelo Gift, where you can find a link to FuturePig:http://freefall.purrsia.com/archives/newarc.htm>>1949105NTA.Neo-Newtypes, then. Same slop.
>>1949138>are all antagonists conveniently never going to have the gene?no, only the unpopular ones>>1949142>trope was used once in this webcomictwice, actuallyhttps://www.schlockmercenary.com/2001-10-31https://www.schlockmercenary.com/2004-10-31although neither was particularly nightmare fuelish
>>1949142The head recovery thing isn't as nightmare fuel as the other thing. Because the other thing is a clone printer, and it leads to Think Like A Dinosaur style logic where you have a society that readily engages in mass suicide via transporter. It's the "if the clone that pops out the other side thinks the same as you, it's actually you" when you're actually dead as shit thing. At least with the head thing the actual brain is more or less intact. And the brain contains the main important bits. Continuity of consciousness is all that matters. If the brutality serves that purpose, its just doing its job.
>>1949644honest mistake, it has been years since my last Schlock read through, I hold myself blameless.>>1949973Transporter Suicide Culture aside, I feel that "syncronization" of a human spirit with the "Star Citizen respawn sphere orb" with the name of a SciFi macguffin, should be a one-time thing and not degradative in lore, since the human spirit is still allowed to be unique and not able to be duplicated, only teleported into the instant quick clone from the jello tube, just like in the "Men In Black" cartoon episode, who always turns into banana mush in 1 hour coz its a "quick" clone duplicate-thing going on in that lore. But to dig into that philosophical crap one would need to read books that did not yet get made into dark mind kink science fiction video movie mirror porno shows, and since nobody else reads books anymore for now it seems a moot point to try to discuss since spend gets replaced by thought with readers, which destroys the rice bowl of every one who benefits from your belief in arbitrary narratives which inevitably lesd to spending more money that only gets more time-consuming to earn as the generations progress.Hard work seems to never pay off for the provider of the hard work, but only for the woman and minority owned corporation that takes unconscionable advantage of the labor market for profit whenever possible.BTW i am not a chatbot, i actually know the big words even though it does not earn me good money.
>>1949138>just have it in the game and never address it in loreI agree with this. You can't have regen tech and not have it remove all consequence for death, and hence all associated drama and with with human interaction and existence. It'd fuck human existence, culture, society, family dynamics, absolutely fucking everything. "Life" has no weight when there is no death, and without weight, is there really any story left to be told?Just don't fucking address it, or make it like PlanetSide where it just turns into an insane nihilistic shitfest where people fight just to fight, and kill themselves when they feel tired, hungry, thirsty, or have a minor headache, because respawning at 100% near-instantly, consequence-free, is actually the BEST solution to every possible physical inconvenience one may have.Just don't explain it. Sci-fi isn't about "the science" (basically magic), it's about how humans respond and exist in a "what-if" scenario. I mean, they didn't explain the implications of gravity-manipulation tech either, right? That sort of tech has massive implications for how humans interact with the universe as well.
>>1950512to play doubles advocate for regen in lore, it does support every crack shack pirate outpost maintaining power to the medical wing, and having constant waves of enemies. it would be neat if they made this explicit actually. it also supports the unbalanced combat nature of the world, where you face a likely death frequently as a mercenary but it's no big deal. a lot of missions actually just don't make sense without regen; it's simply not worth 50k UEC to maybe die as a freelance cop, nor is the value there for a criminal unless both guys have a handy regen.they probably don't want to ever really solve the crisis narratively, because it creates a perfect ever shifting unknown standard for who can be alive and who is forever dead. I see the massive downside of them being able to palpatine returns anyone they want whenever, but they haven't really introduced much or any big bads that it would matter for. also it kinda supports narrative 'hunt down the lead guy' stories like siege of orison being permanent repeatable quests, especially for well established and funded bad guy factions. yes, it does make everything a bit nihilistic and pointless, but if you're gonna have repeatable dailies they already are. why not have the mood match the content?> an insane nihilistic shitfest where people fight just to fight, and kill themselves when they feel tired, hungry, thirsty, or have a minor headache, because respawning at 100% near-instantly, consequence-free, is actually the BEST solutionbeen to a starport lately? people do this
>>1950678Speaking of big bads, the slicer boss lady nobody cares about and most doesn't even know - is getting more voicelines
I'm not going to look for a post number but I remember about a year ago or so I was arguing with some guy on the merits of the Polaris and he said the thing would be so cool with its torpedoes. How fucking cool is your Polaris now, dickhead?
>>1951403NTA; even without its shitty torpedoes its still second best ship in the game, not too bad.I'm actually quite a bit afraid when I get Perseus, I realize Poolaris is better. I still have another ship that Polaris is a loaner for - but perseus will be a waste of money.
Did they fix all the planets having 0.3g yet?
>>1952059moons* not planets. Though all the planets having 1g was just as retarded
Ok, explain how this works.Hurston has four planet-mass terrestrial (not icy) Moons which orbit between ~526,000km and 1,116,000km (scaled to lore).Somehow these Moons have rotation periods in the hours, which means they are not tidally locked to Hurston. Explain to me how such a system can come to stabilize or even form in the first place. These planets should be tearing eachother apart and flinging eachother into oblivion.
>>1952240it's all made up bullshit anonjust like the flight model, immortality tech requiring the sacrifice of invasive species and humanity insisting on throwing hot mass out a nozzle at high speeds when they've also perfected gravitational field generation and manipulation technology that is relegated to moving around fucking cargo boxestheir explanations and "lore" boil down to being fucking retard commie gobbledygook at the best of times
just spent 4 hours doing the resource drive for 1 corp. this shit sucks ass, unloading is the most boring dogshit ever and takes so fucking long. The only reason this was even tolerable is because the missions are bugged currently
>>1952534I feel you anon, I did 3 corpos today since I had already finished one a few weeks back and the only reason I bothered was because each faction was 6-7 runs due to the bug instead of the 25 runs the first corpo took. I wish the other gameplay loops for it were viable because there's FPS missions for it, space combat missions for it but their reward completion is so absurdly small it's genuinely a waste of time.
>>1952550I finished it a few weeks ago, but what's the new bug that makes it that much faster to do?It was such a fucking grind, doing one cargo rescue at a time...
>>1952626you accept the 127k aUEC mission and instead of ~100 SCU of cargo it has ~500. also there are no enemies whatsoever so you just hop in the ship, wait for the objective to update (can take a couple mins) and go
>>1952643also abandon and reset the mission if it's a cat, takes way too long to unload compared to the C2
>>1952240Aren't you the same planet autist from a few threads ago that threw in the towel and fucked off to that UE5 space sim? You are not getting an accurate star system model my guy, just like it'll never be Win 7 compatible.>>1952626The new "bug" has the 125 SCU retrieval missions in space spawn both the C2 and Caterpillar with a full cargo load of more than just the standard cargo (shit like medical supplies), doesn't spawn the hostile NPC's, and this will net you 400+ of SCU progress per run. So what you'd do now is take the abandoned C2 (Cat is a nightmare to unload, abandon retrieval missions that spawn the Cat), then offload all of that and the mission will accept all those boxes to your overall progress, even if the mission text itself doesn't display that exact amount for the hand in. Note that It won't accept the boxes if you abandon that specific retrieval mission and try handing them in with the "Materials Required" contract.
you guy's thoughts on the control surfaces and "new" atmo flight model that is currently on the PTU? pretty sure this is going to make the LF meta even more broken since now alot of the medium ships with no control surfaces are just gonna be straight up bricks in atmo
>>1952907Alot of the new flight model stuff has been in the game files for quite some time, but not active. The dataminers did manage to toggle it on in an offline state so they could make those short videos, but its none of it is officially coming in 4.3.1, and probably won't be coming to live this year anytime.
>>1952643>>1952654>instead of ~100 SCU of cargo it has ~500AHHHHHH I WASTED ALL THAT FUCKING TIME DOING IT 100 AT A TIME, SPAMMING FLARES AND DECOYS, TO GET IT DONE BEFORE THE OLD CUTOFF DATE.FUCK
>>1952654Dude, the Cat is crazy easy to unload. You just pull it up against the wall and use the open all doors keybind. Then you push all that shit into the elevator from inside the ship. Takes a mere 30-60 seconds after touching down.
>>1952643I got one of those, but the ship was full of iron and quartz.
>>1952985Doesn't matter, they still count.
>>1952985The event is scripted to count all the SCU associated with a ship as event progress for all the event related contracts. There's a custom script that's supposed to clear the normal inventory for these ships and add the event specific cargo but it broke so it's spawning them with their regular cargo contents and since the game sees all cargo turned in on a event contract as "Event Cargo" it's accepting iron, quartz, and medical supplies.
>>1953036Wierd. It never got off the recovery step when I did it, and wouldn't recognize anything.
>>1949061>>1949138I wanted to talk about the Regen thingBut lore wise Regen is tied to the ibraham sphere which is a "we aren't sure how it works but it just does but only one at a time". The ibraham sphere is derived from vanduul tech. But the vanduul are a nomadic mongrel like clan based society that kind by lore, loot, resource strip, and kill whatever including eachother. But its the source for why you can regen by lore. Now this might mean they can do it themselves, maybe it's a plot point in the campaign. I strongly believe they never "created" it, my assumption is they found the tech while resource harvesting or invading / looting either old ass ruins, or another empire that found out about it. Think of Elites' guardian ruins or illos in mass effect. Regen could be tech that may have led to a ancient empires downfall via infighting which plays into what other anons say about consequences, might also explain all the weird tech we have but don't get.If the PU we are in is AFTER the campaign (idk if this is true, doubt it), that means whoever you kill in the campaign as a vanduul bad guy, can likely come back for part 2 (reoccurring villain), they HAVE this tech, hell they might even have a city dedicated to just regen and weapons / war manufact - given the mass harvester resource collections. The UEE has HUGE interests in this tech, which can lead to legit clones or draft servitude for those who "it works on" - this can lead to post campaign lore (See downfall of ancients above) but also gameplay wise in the PU - it could give the "outlaws" legs to stand on ethically even if they use it. Or could split Terra vs Sol. The options are wide. The Regen thing is big lore wise, but I don't see how one bombing can erase it fully for everyone in the UEE. It reeks of conspiracy. It will come back.Gameplay wise it should give you a death penalty like perma lower hp or forced crippled limp / bad ADS accuracy for XX time if you die repeatedly in a short time.
>>1953385you need to go back down to the cargo hold before you jump the ship away and wiggle around the cargo boxes, maybe move one of the small ones to another grid spot next to it then when you climb back up and sit in the pilot seat it should update the contract telling "Reinforcements are jumping in" and you need to return 50-54 cargo containers. If the server you're on is dying it might take two trips down to the cargo hold and some more box jiggling. Usually I climb into the ship, find a 1scu box and move it to an adjacent cargo grid location. Then climb up the ladder and sit in the pilot seat and it works 95% of the time, the other 5% I go back down and with the maxlift double click on a few containers to unseat them and walk up and it works.

>>1954126I dream of doing something similar but ue5 makes me feel special ed retarded.the mistake CIG made was going for WW2 in space..Or at least trying that and doing it wrong. All we have is ww2 speeds combined with a long TTK.having said that boost does kind of work like altitude but im conviced any similarities are a coincidence.
>>1954231>I dream of doing something similar but ue5 makes me feel special ed retarded.I mean, same. I'm currently debating if I want to go with a real mass scale or divide it by some factor or bullshit gravity because otherwise it takes like 500000000 units of force in the engine to lift a ship. And that only works with gravity off.
Once again asking for the thread to be nuked, so we can start again anew. Also the new VOLT HMG sucks ass.
This game has become a parody of itself. The guy fieri armour is too far, they have lost all sense of the original vision.
>>1954126Realism is great, but space 6dof with no friction is extremely hard to play on. I kinda want to do orbital mechanics in a very simplified way to my horror space game - but it has to happen automatically. Doing that stuff manually is not for most people.Conversely the more freedom you give players the easier the game gets to play, eg. Rebel Galaxy has no "up and down".It doesn't make it a worse game, its arguably better capital ship game as far as space combat goes - however its a very stylized choice too - not going to scratch the realism itch almost at all.
>>1954176>6DOF, but with DIFFERING maximum speed limits FOR EACH DIFFERENT FUCKING direction.I am kinda fine with that since its a simplification of different accelerations from different engines while keeping the maximum speed in playable and within physics step constraints.BUT I am NOT ok with the drag being so fucking agressive (why not increase the max speed when you boost - until you slow down? for example)And I am NOT ok with the speed limit change between modes.Changing to SCM mode is a magical fucking handbreak in space - you can just boost full speed to a station and stop almost immediately with a push of a button. In 3.22 you could do the same result but with much cooler action: You boost to max speed, you estimate how long you have, flip and boost on opposite vector. Absolutely crazy manouver and so satisfying.
>>1954569Are you applying a point of force or continual force. There is a difference. Usually if you apply a continual force it will require less as it starts to stack up. Also it depends on the mass etc.Sad thing is that physics are in my experience a poor way to do these things, you can make what you want it to be so much easier by doing it in other methods.
>>1954623Imagine what happens when a simulation game hires hundreds of noobie developers from all across the industry - people who dont play or enjoy this style of games and have gone through the normal game developer journey. They look at a game and they see all the other games in comparison. Armors? Well Fornite has fire armor, Apex has skins with animations and particles, a bunch of games do. If you want to sell skins then you have to do this. It's funny as its the progressive-low-iq mindset, if they REALLY want to optimize selling armors, they have to sell SEXY armors. Problem is, thats forbidden by ideology in western game development. And ofc it wouldn't really fit the game much better. What I find offensive about the whole ordeal is that the players, the customers - the people wanting to buy shit are SAYING what they want: Ship skins (even recolors) - but CIG just cant deliver.
>>1954856They kinda mentioned this that only SOME of the ships have proper masking going on. But for those ships with masks - they can sell 16 billion colors with 0 effort on their part and 0 cost to client size. Fucking do it idiots.
>>1954851Continual force with no ramp-up aside from physics-based inertia, currently. Physics may be a bit jank, but for 6DoF and that nice swooping Newtonian movement you sort of need them.
>>1954847Yeah, the turn and burn was a fun one. I still use a similar move with ships that have a proper VTOL function, where I pitch up 90° for good stopping power. Retro burns are practically a requirement on the Avenger due to it having shit thrusters. Damn thing can't strafe or decelerate for shit, so everything is on the main thruster.

But for those ships with masks - they can sell 16 billion colors with 0 effort on their part and 0 cost to client size. >>1947470Let me give you some advice here anon. Scale your idea way the fuck down. Just make a cool ship controller where the meta is actually designed. If you make a fun controller with simulation aspects that will sell so much. You should complexly forget about art until that happens. I am a 3d artist so I should be biased against saying that but it's just true.
>>1955678I know it sounds like every overreaching, too-big-to-ever-complete idea that's ever been had. I am well aware. And yeah, ship controls are what I'm currently focusing on. I'm refining the absolute hell out of that side of things and now I'm moving into 3d radar and objective tracking. Or trying, at the least. There's little direct documentation on that sort of thing to stand as a basis for growth. I might've actually just stumbled on gold actually, but we'll see. Gonna need to reverse-engineer, prototype, tear down, and eventually refine things into what I want. But I'm also steadily building a proper design document and banking things to get into later.

>>1955678>>1955704That noted, however, I do not look forward to the task of having to design and model everything. But then again, I sort of do. Plan on doing modular prop sets and construction stuff so I can blend and repurpose everything. But as someone who sucks at modeling and art, I dunno. But then, I also thought I sucked at math and could never put together basic game logic. That was wrong. Maybe the other stopping point is also wrong.I have at times considered using canned assets for certain things, as I've found some really nice sets, but I feel that relying on them weakens your grasp of what you're doing and slows down momentum. You'll always be comparing your work to that professional set of prebuilt assets rather than moving forward and just implementing content that you can later rework and refine. It also stands out if you're going live service. You can't exactly go "well, this thing that looks nice is only temporary until I get my shit together".

It'll look like shit until it looks good. But as some things start looking good, everything will start looking good because of polish passes across all assets. >>1961218Caves are there. You have to get surprisingly close to see them though. One way I've found to locate caves is many of the moon bounties will use them as their point of origin. Look for a square hole in the ground that becomes a crack when getting closer.
>>1961512issue is I want to get janalite which is only in sand caves
One thing I've noticed that's core to most space games? The scale is absolutely fucking pointless. You end up with a universe of nothing. Like, watching some StarCitizen videos it's just absurdly depressing watching people land at this huge overly detailed port and it's just lifeless. It's a dead universe. It's the Backrooms. It's the horror of a liminal space. And via that, everything seems pointless. The effort is pointless.
>>1962576It helps if the player is able to fill the world with their own creations or otherwise noticeably alter the world in a persistent way. However, when you apply that in a multi-player setting your introduce so much noise that the "persistence" may as well not exist, because someone will kick down your sandcastles as soon as you build it, and instead of an empty world what you'd have is a world filled with garbage and ruins (of garbage). For this reason I've been insistent that Star Citizens absolutely NEEDS a single-player mode (with optional co-op), or at the least, private servers.
>>1962637Exactly the opposite. Single-player in these games is the epitome of the problem and largely the epitaph of the games involved. If all you want is a single player space game, the spaces are pointless in their entirety. That the spaces exist puts forward that they should serve a purpose. Players need to occupy these spaces, else they are simply elements of liminal horror. So you need to herd your players together. But how do you do that while, at all, maintaining the sense of space, particularly with regard to exploration? You can't. Not if you want to keep things feeling well-populated. Not unless you overload everything with NPCs, but NPCs are absolutely pointless. The ideal, the actual solution is human presence. So that necessitates enforced proximity, and enforced proximity mandates a common hub.
>>1962650>So that necessitates enforced proximity, and enforced proximity mandates a common hub. Then do (partial) instancing.EVE Online with space legs and a cash shop where you can buy all but the LARGEST of ships would be absolute fucking cancer and is a completely different type of game than what was originally promised. We catch only glimpses of it now because relatively few players stick around for a few months at a time, but even now, with larger content drops we have orgs camping points of interest charging entrance fees for access to what theme park rides the game has. With a more consistent playerbase you'll have to be paying tolls to access everything remotely interesting or lucrative, on top of paying tax/protection money to whatever orgs you have joined or is in your locale. Orgs already try to do this now, it's just that few have enough consistent players to keep it going for long.Fucking tolls, taxes, and rent in a space game. It's gay as shit. Fuck org/discord drama. I don't want to deal with any of this shit, just give me what was promised all those years ago.
>>1962576just play freelancer
>>1962716>camping points of interest charging entrance fees for accessThis is the greatest role for the stupid artillery ships like the crusader ares ion starfighter.Methods:1.)> Toll Booth Buster, take out the big ship with the nursa and medbeds from so far away that the alt in the pilot seat will not be able to maneuver to avoid the powerplant shoot-through from your choice of magic S7 gun.2.)> One-Two Click-to-delete a couple of the stationary campers hiding behind cover but not well enough to hide from the cutter scout that gave your doom laser artillery ship that one critical sensor ping on public broadcast, that gives markers and pips on every attacker ship, to every spaceman within comm range. Pocket AWACS needs to be in every pocket because it is super annoying and may give hope of fun/rescue/vengeance/justice to the disadvantaged cutter pilot in their "one-sided conversation of violence" where victory seems unrealistic.(#2 can be repeated when the survivors get bored and stop performing evasive maneuvers, because good luck trying to catch your sniper artillery ass without magical space kamikaze drones only available to concierge player accounts)3.)> Troll in global chat. I was shocked when I discovered the Aaron halo was actually in game and not just a relic of the starmap, so now I'm wondering, does this exist? there are of course asteroid clusters and mining bases littered all over pyro (and not stanton) but this one looks comparatively pretty massive
old fag here havent decided to throw it at the trash can in 3.16 cause hauling was a mess came back at 4.1 elevators made me throw it agian so how are the planet elevators OUTSIDE of the mega hubs?do they fucking work or they still just bug out your haul?
>>1964333Well, CIG just ran an event that forced everyone to use those planetary surface based elevators, and to say shit hit the fan would be putting it mildly. At the very least it forced them to finally accept what we've been telling them since their initial implementation, and some fixes have made them (kinda) serviceable this patch, with more fixes coming next patch.
>>1964338What I find must upsetting is that every issue requires a massive dogpile to make them admit to anything. 15 minutes with the game shows a tremendous number of bugs, and their stupid "Year of Stability" has been a complete joke so far. They even took the drones away from the Apollo after I waited like 5 years to have one. It was the one big feature I wanted that ship for, and instead it bloated into a fat Conny.
Why is Arena Commander always dead?
>>1965021you're playing at the wrong time for that region
>>1964338ah thats why they kept giving more hauling that the mission was asking for? just in case ?
>>1965021it's easy enough to pick up pvp in the PU now, so it's basically obsolete
>>1965264that's a very recent bug, grinding it out until the most recent patch was absolute ass and I'm fucking malding that I did 3/4 factions the hard/proper way
>>1965221I'm playing at like 9pm>>1965286I just want to do races and vanduul swarm
>>1965322that is a shame, but nobody ever did the races anyway. hopefully soon they bring back the PU races; for a short while until 4.0 there was a circuit via missions you could go and participate in with others with maybe a dozen tracks around stanton.
>>1964281try to find it yourself, probably the only exploration gameplay you will get for 5 years
>>1965322ahhh, yeah races are dead outside private groups and i don't think I've ever seen people joing vanduul swarm, better off inviting some friends. at higher levels of VS they just spawn enemies with massively increased cannon damage since they don't have any big ships to throw at you. it gets to a point they'll 1 hit you through shields
>>1965327>>1965454why the fuck did they get rid of racing? It's one of the best feeling systems the have
>>1965533an enormous swath of existing missions were broken and removed by server meshing and fallen to the back burner with the BMM, engineering, control surfaces and pyro's solar pulses. at least we got volt weapons!
>>1965636the volt guns have got to be some manager's pet projectwe've seen nothing but these things added for like a year now.
>>1966440I wonder how he feels that nobody uses them because there's no ammo laying around to restock with. Can't shoot an empty gun.
It's refreshing to see CIG not even try to hide their cashgrabs. No effort whatsoever used on Apollo or its commercial.Them begging for help from people on spectrums just shows how fucking dead their innovation and vision is. People point it out to them in their begging thread, how other medical ships show clear soul as someone gave a fuck making them.
>>1966570git gud, there are racks of them in the Hathor locations, the Onyx facilities, at Lazarus and the Farro complexes, all with more ammo than you can equip on a heavy core. they also sell the ammo for all of them at most stations. they're overpowered as fuck best in class weapons and if you're not running them you're probably getting dabbed on by someone who is. the parallax was strong on release and it's probably the least busted of them
>>1966440it makes sense they did an entire manufacturer at once, they all look practically identical which I hate but it seems to be the only way CIG is capable of putting out content at a reasonable pace. I still await my nigger rigged space AK however
>>1967434please tell me that is fake or just a joke.... a fucking space ak47 with open bolt...... really....?guys... we need a gun for the space badlands pirates...
>>1967437there's a whole range of ghetto retard weapons like this that were supposed to be the main selection of pyro, lorewise because they exist on cobbled together scraps. it's a place where it might make sense to have a fucking ironsight on a mounting plate because you couldn't find a dust cover. somehow we ended up with high tech lightning guns instead.
>>1967428Being powerful means nothing when you are constantly expending it and your only resupply is the dead bodies on the floor. I'll still happy pack a Gallant. This is not a matter of skill. It's a matter of sustainability.
>>1967703depends what you're doing. I usually bring a volt in, if I run it dry it goes in the pack and I can grab something off the floor. by that time though you should really be at the volt cache anyway
>>1967703i want gallant full auto back..... i want slow firing demeco back......... they fucking ruined my favorite guns
>>1967434The business part of this gun is allmost all one-piece. Could have made a stock from an accessible material like wood or plastic...
>>1967760Isn't Pyro mostly rocks and metal?
>>1967967...is there any fucking trees in pyro? the land generation is newer tech and it shows, but I can't think of a single forested area. that might go with the lore of it being a mined out remnant but come on, there's no way there isn't a single tree on bloom or pyro IV realistically.
>>1967974I won't claim I've been everywhere out there, but I sure as shit can't recall anywhere with much for vegetation.

Hows cheating in this game? Does it have mandatory anti-cheat? Are there many people fucking up on foot in FPS?
>>1968550*Nvm lol. Just saw clips of auroras (starter ships) ganking frigates with a few shots lmao. That means you can literally directly change memory values without being caught and the game is unprotected.
>>1968586it's got Easy Anti-Cheat, they had it disabled for VR but they changed that because lol what did they think was gonna happen. there was a period where people were running some command that would incapacitate and strip everyone in an entire region, be it on a planet or space station etc. just murder and loot whole zones at once.
>>1968550>>1968664but now the retard chatbots screech in global about how having a box-humping mission spawn with a full abandoned C2 of cargo boxes should somehow be considered "exploit" instead of "less broken than usual".Must be the discord-groomed tranny logic stuck up pipeline's ass somewhere.>>1968586You will want to check the date on all cheat seller "proof of it working" videos.Game is just so broken on the backend that shit like this works, and fixing it will make everything retarded and failure-prone.And somehow it seemed less horrible when we could make it through a whole 60 minutes of gameplay before our first game crash, with no persistent armor, guns, or anything. Full wipe every login and it worked. Now it is about ten years later and this broken billion dollar "small indy" game has more excuses than the ongoing holocaustic genocide in Gaza/Former Palestine, which charlie kirk may have been murdered for mentioning, in an interview about ethnic cleansing.

However I uninstalled,Of course you substituted the acronym of a filesystem for another random acronym inside your computer, namely the raw storage chip board part, that you "format" with "a file system", if you want it to be empty of visible files.Seems like you reinstalled and that since it was "on a computer" it is falsely considered the same thing as what I wrote. Why not just copy off the LIVE folder, or for a deep clean, just save the data.p4k file that is really large, and move it back when you reinstall and cancel the big download, so you can just do the "verify" readback process (that actually reads the p4k file from storage to check the checksums, and sum the sumchecks, unlike in past years.)Uninstalling takes a long time and star citizen is somehow still less shitty than Adobe Software Products, which have a documented history of arbitrarily rewriting your windows boot partition and harming Linux Dual-Boot functions.>>1972406>That doesn't dictate what the filesystem is.Nobody even knows what a filesystem for a computer is anymore, they barely even know what a "file" is anymore. You might as well link them to 1990s webcomics like http://freefall.purrsia.com and expect them to know who "Pinton" is.

>>1975314I like to watch Rust gameplay where people roleplay crazy shit. The phone and phone number system adds so much to it. Wish I could do more of that in SC. Also never hear anyone on mic. >>1975337yeah I'm being social but I wish I could encounter people in game
>>1975461I've never done it before, how do I get it?
>>1975465>Also never hear anyone on mic.Thats because the VOIP is using legacy code that is not designed to work with a server meshed environment with over 600 players. Right now, only the first 50 people who joined the shard are able to use VOIP.>>1975467The 890J contract (called "Boarding Action in Progress" on the contract manager) spawns at both Microtech and ArcCorp.
>>1975492Thank you, I'll give it a shot tomorrow.
>>1975465Usually the people on their mics have them stuck on to blast normie music. Think the last one I heard was playing Brittany Spears.
>>1975455I find piles of those stupid things at the PAF locations on bodies and in boxes. They're everywhere.
>>1975246The content is pretty fun but buggy as fuck in 2025.But I think, most importantly, there is NOTHING new in space, everything is fps combat stuff.
>>1975424Sadly that will never happen. Maybe for NPC missions but it's not really the same either.CIG should seriously think what they really want the game to be.If they want shit like dropships to work as advertised (and like planet side) they need to make reasons for people to: 1. Want to go infantry, 2. Make landing lethal without dropship, 3. Limit the number of dropships In a serverIf they want dropships to work without having to change the game or limit current gameplay, they need to look at enlisted and make players have a group of npcs with them, so that you actually need transport. Now let's say everyone can have a squad of npcs (laughably hard for CIG to accomplish), you can build a number of other systems and specialisations around that. (Note that ai is MORE resource intensive, not less than players)So NPCs are not going to happen, not in the level of enlisted.Meaning the solution has to be with players... ...meaning cig will never solve it. They will make future ships just better and better as overall, being dropship will not matter.
>>1975465Mic was rare before, and now it's busted, there is a limit of voice channels that's like 20Voice also is very low range so it's useless most of the time.
>>1975589Those are freefly bozos.Normies don't realize VoIP is on by default or on voice activation etc
What are the best scavenger FPS loadouts to be able to keep getting ammo in a certain area while being effective at all ranges?P4+C54 in Stanton and Karna+Ravager in Pyro?
I wonder why majority of the pvp orgs in SC are criminal / pirates - eg. just griefing or pirating. You'd get far more pvp action by killing them.
>>1975226Indians working in IT dislike nepo-caste culture.https://x.com/war4thewest/status/1970088844713185298>>1975465>yeah I'm being social but I wish I could encounter people in gameI was able to act sociable a bit during the 'resource drive' broken elevators test suite event, just by throwing people's boxes out of the freight elevator in the general direction of their ship, since they were blocking my pickup with their cargo, then folks started liking that for some reason even though I was totally American Airlines, freight-tossing their junk on the dirt.nice chat in usa global that event.
>>1975733Oh no, this was audio piped in direct. They meant to do this.
>>1976628>Indians working in IT dislike nepo-caste culture.so you are a pajeet huh, it has been proven multiple times that indies in position of power will hire only other indians
>>1976265p8-ar works great at medium to long rangep8-sc with a tweaker comp is good up closequartz is also really good up close but is effected by environment heat and has a hard limit 25m rangeprism is the go to shot gun, trigger pulls as fast as you can clicknew fresnel LMG is great across all ranges but it takes a second to ramp up to full damage. full damage shots will 2 hit heavy armor wearers
>>1976628White people don't use Twitter.
>>1975728>CIG should seriously think what they really want the game to be.I think they know very well. It's a way to milk money out of retards.
>>1976820Sure but that doesn't change that they don't know what the GAME is. They just know they need to keep making money on nothing
>>1976994Are you that Sean guy who was raging in global that the game is a scam and calling everyone a tranny?
>>1977092Hello games guerilla marketing is really getting out of hand
