F2P Tarkov extraction game just released on Steam

What are your thoughts so far? Did Delta Force steal their spotlight by releasing earlier?
>>
>no proton support
Shame, I love playing shitty f2p shooters for a month before going back to Quake.

I played it for entire day, like 10hours yesterday.
I got to like level 15, 5mil in cash and even in normals noob mode (non-ranked) I started getting matched with LVL30's.
I saw Master ranks, Ace rank one guy had fucking S2 Legend rank badges or some shit on his banner. M4's decked out somehow.

This is my first extraction shooter ever and once this started happening the experience sucked.
I don't even know what I'm doing, still learning the map, learning to manage inventory and I'm getting fucked by 300hr, 500hr+ sweats.
There must be some hidden mmr or some shit, I guess I was getting too many opp kills because no matter what game I can aim.

Got my fill, uninstalled.
>>
I've been enjoying it, seems way simpler than Tarkov and you don't get completely crumped if you lose everything by the replenishing basic gear coupon system

I had only ~200 hours in Tarkov by the time I stopped playing it a few years ago, so I'm still really fucking bad at pvp shooters, but I'm trying my hand at ABI and I like some of the things they're doing with the Tarkov formula. Other things less so.

On one hand, you unlock weapon modding super-early, and can just slap together any kind of gun, test it out at the range with infinite ammo, tweak it, and simply buy all the parts assembled exactly as you want after finalizing the build making it retardedly easy to get whatever gun you want just by throwing in-game cash at the marketplace. I've already put together a really comfy Vector that I really like to use, and am looking forward to what kind of other guns I can put together. But on the other hand, this system makes finding cool guns in-raid or picking one off of killed players feel much less special.

The flip side of ABI being free to play is that it has to make money in other ways, meaning a fuckload of obnoxious battle passes and cosmetics.

The barter system with npc traders is less strict, where any given barter items simply represent a dollar value, and having the item will knock off an equal amount of the price when you go to buy it from the trader. So there are still valuable loot finds in-raid, but they're not as exciting since you can just straight-up buy that same item by selling a bunch of garbage instead.

Maps and the loot they drop are split into tiers based on the overall price of the gear you load in with, so the beginners can go into raids without (too many) sweats rolling up with Chad-tier armor and FUr MoM AP ammo. But at my level (12), a decent gun doesn't cost much, so this feels pretty pointless.

Each raid in Tarkov felt weighty and dangerous, while raids in ABI feel much less tense because of all the safety nets it gives you. They are both very different takes on the genre despite their obvious similarities. I'll need to play ABI a bit more to be sure how I feel about it, I think.

Thanks for your input. I haven't played it yet but I'm downloading it now. I woke up this morning and did 2 scav runs and 1 PMC run because I was so scared I wasn't completely ready. I personally love the feeling of the weight and danger of the raid and how scared I get.

I never wanted an easier method so I personally disliked when they made a PvE mode for Tarkov. I'm going to play this game and hope there is some sense of danger I can find.

Yeah, I started playing Tarkov again about a week ago, but as PMC I can extract maybe 1 out of every 10 raids, so I abuse scav runs. Just sucks that killing other scavs lowers your Fence rep, and it can be hard to tell whether the fully geared-up dingus looting a dead body is a pmc who walked in like that or a scav who took all that good stuff off a dead one. All the new guns, areas, and tasks they've added over the years have created a huge knowledge gap that I just don't think I have the time nor willpower to overcome anymore.

desu Im more interested in active matter or arc raider more

let me go ahead and give you guys the meta real quick:
wanna be a rat? bolty with red 7.62x51 ammo, maybe a thermal if you wanna be stupid expensive. hide the ammo in your secure container.

wanna be a chad? kitted HK17, biggest armor you got, and a shit load of endurance stims and energy drinks so you can sprint forever

jumping carries your sprint momentum which lets you keep moving while turning to spray. this game is WAY more arcadey than tarkov, don't play it like a sim. but don't be stupid when you push either, you still die fast.

have fun out there gamers.
>>
I’ve been enjoying it so far. Not as painful as Tarkov so it’s easier to have fun and losing your gear doesn’t hurt as badly. Still just milling about the farm but having fun. Biggest find so far was the Caliburn model for 750k
>>
The missions (tasks) are really basic conpared to Tarkov, but holy fucking shit ABI is a million times more stable than Tarkov. I can load into a fresh raid in less than a minute and a half on average, and my scav raids load so quick that I can go from the home screen and fully loaded into a raid in 30 seconds. More potentially failed raids (and lost gear) per hour than Tarkov, but it actually feels great being able to just gear up and load back in so fast.
>>
This game is so fucking ass, I'm level 7 getting put up against teams of 4, all level 25-30. Also I can be shooting dead on their head but they can just tank it I guess. They can also revive squad while I have one chance, they have 8.

Who the fuck thought this was a good idea?

Balance is fucking horrible.
>>
The worst thing about these games is the incessant need to have NPCs look like players
I wish The Cycle Frontier never died

>active matter
looks janky
>arc raider
39 dollars to play will make this DOA

Are there solo-only instances? Dang I don't have a four stack so idk if I play this game.
>>
>>1965538
How F2P friendly is it?
>>
>>1965538
Everything’s good, and the qol improvements are solid, but the maps don’t have the same level of immersion as Tarkov’s.
>>
>>1965538
Cheap rehash of tarkov deved for mobile platforms and shit out with a pc release purely because bsg managed to create a void with how poorly they handled tarkov (see all the other dead and buried clones that tried to fill in)
Its such a wannabe that theyve even plastered lvndfills face all over the game just like gray zone did
Its just more garbage that managed to catch on because they went the safest route of 1:1 cloning instead of trying to rewrite the formula like active matter or something even worse like marauders

Game is fun, wish it was more popular here
Definitely not a "mobile game". Leaning, sound design and other tactical elements outclass most shooters
