Here's what I would think designing an open world game would go...> Chunks - maximum at the 16 bit int limit.> Offsetted positioning - The server will think the player is at 0,0,5 when he's actually at 100,100,105. So instead you gotta send the Player's own offsetted position and have it replicate to other player's clients.> The map is only loaded on the client. On the server it'll look like nothing's there but on the client you'll see the map.> For things like cars and physics, you gotta have it be client-sided and have it replicate to other clients.
Then again, this is a horrible way to dev on Roblox. There is no incentive to make a game like this because Roblox is a multiplayer platform and players won't end up meeting each other.If all the in this map are anchored then it'll be easy but if the game you have in mind is mechanic heavy (2b2t) then I'd suggest not having this system and instead working within the ±100,000 stud limit.

I experimented with this, the workspace itself has a CFrame property which can directly be used to offset the whole world, however with large worlds there's ENORMOUS lag which depends directly on how far you move the workspace. If you move the workspace by 1 stud there will be a minor lag spike, if you move it by 10,000 studs the game will freeze for whole few seconds. Interestingly if every part but one is unanchored and welded together to an anchored part the workspace CFraming performance will improve very much, but the problem with welds is that they are more likely to give these part alignment errors like that anon from earlier is experiencing. I've also noticed that the more parts there are in the game as a whole the less distance you have "available", what I mean is you can go very far away to 100k studs on an empty baseplate and it'll all look okay, maybe a bit jittery, but if you have a lot of parts, everything will be much more fucked up at 100k studs. Roblox actually HAS solved this problem back in *2019* but they never implemented it (proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1MXGAlVjnE (skip to 0:54))But just as I was about to give up any hopes, Roblox staff responded just 2 weeks ago to a feature request for exactly this on the forum (see picrel)

I use flstudio and all my plugins on linux as well thanks to my friend who told me what fltstudio and that I could make music with. It was a fun learning experience.
